Being from Illinois, I guess I'm easily impressed by interesting topography, but this place is off the charts. I think fifteen of the 18 holes lack any evidence of civilization other than the green grass. Snow peaked mountains in the distance, fall colors, steep cliffs...More

Green fees were reasonable with available tee times. Course in good shape but there are a few moles burrowing in places. Course is tough but very rewarding. The staff is extremely nice and very helpful. This course is a MUST play if you love golf.

I played here six months ago and it was fine, but I played today and it was wonderful! Green fairways, incredibly scenic views, and the greens are huge and undulating. Tom and Laurie in the Pro-shop are kind and accommodating. You will not regret making...More

Black Mesa is in terrific condition with challenging undulations and tiered greens. What a picturesque setting surrounded by views of the Mesa. We spent four days in Santa Fe with another couple and played three days of golf. By far Black Mesa was our favorite....More

Just spent an enjoyable few hours playing this course, which I have loved for years but had almost written off because of poor maintenance three years ago. Changes in some bunkers and fringe areas make the course more player-friendly. Fairways are excellent and the greens...More

My fiance and I were a little weary about playing this course due to some critical reviews but the entire course was in beautiful shape. Several tee boxes to make it as challenging as you want. The staff at the registration desk were great and...More

Always play Black Mesa on our annual New Mexico golf visit. The somewhat rough edges do not bother me as much as some - partly because this is a big hitter's course. I regard it as challenging, but fair. Each year it is in a...More

I have been a great fan of Black Mesa for years, and believe it is a very special course in one of the most dramatic settings anywhere. Because it is such a unique venue, I have tried in recent years to "support" and play the...More
