We only stayed one night here on way to Colorado. The park is off the highway quite a bit, so not much to do around there if you were going to stay for awhile. The lake first thing in the morning was so neat, you...More

What a lovely state park, very nicely kept. A pleasant surprise to us was all the unique wildlife, some were the same as we have in PA and some were completely foreign to us but Thanks to the internet we identified them. The coolest part...More

This was a nice park for a day visit. Definitely do the short hike to the dinosaur prints. The lake is pretty and we saw lots of fish flipping. There is a small visitor center. Butterflies and dragonflies abound.

The Annual Trout Derby is hosted at this state park every 2nd weekend in June, and it’s one of the best “holiday” weekends in the summer. If you’ve never attended, you’re missing out!

Loved being able to see the dinosaur tracks in the mud and the little information boards about them and what to look for. Very informative and interesting. Be on the lookout for non-extinct wildlife though. While visiting we also saw rabbits, little spiny lizards and...More

If you are a dino lover this is a great spot to go. If not there is not much here. At least during the winter time. Not sure about summer. Many footprints frozen in time. Huge lake with lots of geese this time of year....More

Loved seeing the dinosaur tracks, and beautiful scenery. The best part about going this time of year is seeing the geese on their migration!

We were traveling from TX to CO and stopped at Cadillac Ranch in Amarillo. Clayton Lake State Park is not too far from Amarillo. It was a great place to stop to break up our trip. The dinosaur prints are estimated to be from 91-100...More
