Like all passes in Bhutan, Yutong La is marked with prayer flags & a chorten. The wind can be quite fierce here due to the altitude. The road was being widened when we crossed Yutong La, & therefore, there was a lot of dust.

Situated at an elevation of 11237 ft. A huge gate, a Chorten (Stupa) in the center of the road and several colourful prayer flags marks the place. Though it is only a few feet higher than Pele La, the weather here was quit different. The...More

The road is still under construction with many narrow and bad sections. The pass is at 3430m and is decorated with hundreds of prayer flags. We did not stay for long as it was cold and windy.

This road appears to be under construction since a decade. It is in an increadibly bad shape and often blocked by rocks that fell down and barred it. So sometimes you will have to wait for an hour or longer to pass.

This picturesque pass is 3325m above ground and is decorated with countless prayer flags.! You'll definitely drive through this pass enroute to Bumthang. Worth a quick stop for pictures, and a bonus if the weather is kind.!

A Pass to cross after some hair-raising & challenging windy road presently under construction till 2018-2021. Beautiful view on a clear day. Weather turn misty on our return journey which became mystical. Awesome with the mist & howling wind.
