According to our guide, this chorten was built to protect the area from the evil spirit of the mountain behind it. I don't know why but the only monks we saw there were little boys 6-7 year old. One of them spoke little English but could not tell us anything except his age. The settings are very picturesque.

As we were travelling west (from Paro) to Bhumthang, we have passed many chortens ... beware, not to simply drive past.

The Stupa is so beautifully situated between Trongsa and Bunthang further east, it such a nice and old Stupa, I had to stop had to pray as it remits the feeling of Buadha Nath outside Kathmandu.

for me it was such an oppertunity to take photos, as the stream, the landscape as just perfect to do so.

Most Bhutanese Chortens don't look like this one, but as this is built in Nepalese style it has eyes on top and is in different configuration. There's not much to do except walk around and admire the view, but it is worth a visit and contemplation.

Chendebji Chorten was built in the early 18th century to subdue an demoness terrorising the people of the valley. This is a beautiful quiet scenic spot and I find it quite strange that there was not much mention about this place. Hardly any tourist when visited.

Nice stop to stretch your legs and visit with the vendors set up here. The yaks are not friendly and one charged my friend when he got too close. No harm no foul. We spent about 20 minutes here. The Rhododendrons were in bloom and they with prayer flags, colorful vendors and yaks made for some very nice photos.

it was raining and muddy when we visited this small chorten. What made it special was watching an old lady walking around the chorten. Her face was lined but full of a life lived. We shared a cookie with her.

On our trip from Punakha to Trongsa we made a picnic lunch break in this peaceful and quiet place, while our guide and our driver preferred to have lunch in the small village about a km past this chorten.
