Such a beautiful Ethnographic museum, in lovely traditional Albanian house, well built exhibition with great ethnographic collection. Guide is very professional and speaks few foreign languages. Must visit while in Albania.

Fascinating Ethnographic museum in the large traditional home of an 18th century general. The house is filled with period furnishings and implements, such as a built in butter churn, a loom, a flour mill and wonderful rugs and embroidered fabrics.our guide told us about families, traditions .....

See life the way it was lived while producing wine, leather, homegoods, etc. Rooms show the separate living quarters for men & women as well as how they entertained others.

Tough walk up the hill to get to this rather small recreated home from 200 years ago. But all mannekins dressed in period costumes and appliances Some interesting views into olive and wine making and kitchens. Would not go again

Second time I've done this tour and it is brilliant. The information and insight into Albania history is quick but meaty and the tour guide we had both times was very funny. I highly highly recommend this place if you go there... fluent in English as well!

The Ethnographic Museum is in a 15 room villa built in 1764 that was once owned by the Toptani family. They were wealthy merchants and the house and its furniture offer a window into the life style of the time. The building itself is well maintained. Our guide, Nurmir Ricaj, enthusiastically explained the various rooms and their contents. The family was apparently fully self-sufficient--pressing their own olives and processing wool from start to finished projects as well as other activities necessary for daily living. Twenty-five family members lived in the house and 20 servants lived elsewhere in one of their other 3 houses! As this museum is on the same property as the Skanderbeg Castle, it is easy to visit both at the same time.

With a very profesional guide( with a breez of nazoren sarcastic coments) the tour was more than a view in the past of islamic life in Albania. All very well preserved with all original ornaments and crafts. The guide make same remarkable comparision with today habits. The house itsalf is a masterpiece. Worth to entertain for more than na hour.

For a really good insight into the lifestyle of the wealthier merchants and families of Albania you can go no further than this museum. Beautifully presented with English placards, mannequins, colourful costumes and music, you will be entertained as well as educated. We watched a video of felt-making and then went down into the bazaar area and met the man in the video who then proceeded to shown us in person how he made the felt slippers that I bought! What an amazing experience!

Hi! Is museum open right know (april 2023)? Last reviews mention some renovations, so we would like to be sure before planning our trop to Kruje. Will it open on 1.05?
