We loved this Mekong overnight Homestay then Cai Be Floating Market tour. Great tour, lead by lovely Nguyen. Amazing 30 mins rowing through An Binh island - my sons and I were outrowed by a 60yo grandmother! Felt great to be off the grid down there. Homestay food was lovely.

A comfortable, pleasant ride on a well kept long boat, with a beautiful, delicious and generous lunch at the homestay place - which we'll keep in mind should we happen to be in the area again. After lunch we were entertained by musicians showcasing the "amateur" style - very well done, in the old house there. Miss Trinh, our guide, was faultless. We also enjoyed the visit to the sweet-making business, and are still enjoying our purchases from there. A very relaxing day - and an antidote to the busy-ness of the city.

This is one of two tours that made Vietnam my favorite country to visit. Mai Trinh was very professional and friendly. This tour was not strenuous, it was a good pace. I enjoyed the cruise on the Mekong Delta, it was very refreshing. I will definitely use these tour again.

This tour was organized by my private tour operator, Emperor Tours, We left the hotel at 8ish, and it was a 1hour drive to the Mekong Delta. We boarded a small boat and went along the river, stopping at various riverside villages walking through orchards, trying the local fruit, Jack fruit, and Doreen, Um not to our taste, but plenty of other fruit, like pineapple etc. We also jumped ship and got on a small local san pan then rowed down a small tributary, watching local children being taught how to swim by their grandparents with bamboo floats. A real taste of how the locals live and work. After the rowing, we re-joined the main boat the boat driver gave us a fresh coconut drink, then our guide took us to local restaurant to sample the local elephant ear fish, not so nice, but at least we gave it a try. A great, well organized visit. Highly recommended.

We did an overnight tour of the Delta with Mekong Travel as part of a longer Vietnam tour. (I could only find this day tour listing on TA). We had a great time. The tour was comprehensive and provided such a good package of visits and activities that at the end we felt we had a good feel for the Mekong Delta and lots of good memories.

The tour included visits to a number of cottage industries making various candies, rice paper, fish sauce and rice wine. We also visited an orchard/nursery. Lunch was at a riverside cafe and the meal was very good. There were little touches that made the whole thing more memorable such as sampling the fantastic local fruits at the orchard and on our boat during our tour.

The night was spent at a homestay which was an experience in itself rated elsewhere. Towards the end of our tour we were rowed through side streams in flat-bottomed boats which again added colour to an overall excellent experience. Our guide was good value and helped make the tour special.

This tour was organized by my private tour operator, Anh Tours of Ho Chi Minh City. We left the hotel at 8ish, and it was a two hour drive to the Mekong Delta. We boarded a small boat and went along the river, stopping at a candy factory, brickworks and guesthouse. We also were rowed down a small tributary by one of the many ladies who work on small boats taking guests up and down for about a dollar. Don't forget to give them a small tip for all their hard work.

After the rowing the boat driver gave us a fresh coconut drink and I laid up in a hammock slung across the back of the boat for an hour or so. Simply sublime!

A great, well organized visit. Highly recommended.

Our Guide Tam was excellent. She loved our young kids and was very helpful with them. If travelling with children, request Tam! (sounds like Tom) It was a great way to get a glimpse of local life in the area. I don't know if you could do it without a guide. The tour co. pays the locals for us to have a sticky beak! The overnight at the homestay was a highlight, wonderful food, warm hospitality and they organised fishing for the kids and I local style in the mud! I wish we stayed an extra night.

We did a Vinh Long home stay with Mekong travel. We bused it out to the river, hoped on our boat and did an 16km ride round an island on bikes, which was great and lots of fun. We stopped halfway and were served tea and a local treat as morning tea and then were shown lots of other sights. Home stay was better than expected, lots of local home cooked food, bed was comfortable, no aircon, but we did have fans. Bathroom facilities were basic but ok for one night. Boat trip and lunch next day at a very old home was interesting. Again lots of food. Then bus back to Saigon to fly to Han Noi.
