Collected at hotel, picking up other nationalities on route to cable car. The longest in the world at7.8kms and a feat of German engineering. Our guide BANG was informative, interesting and had a lovely sense of humour and tried to please everyone. After the experience of the cable car we had. N hour in the beach for swimming after which we got in a speedboat which was exhilarating. Stopping off for an hour if snorkelling near the coral reef before heading to another island for lunch which was very good, but very busy with other boats too. We then set off again for snorkelling or Sea World ocean walking (extra to pay) going by speedboat back to the harbour where we were collected and returned to hotel. This was a brilliant day enjoyed by all and meeting up with lovely people. Thank you Bang, you made our day…

Did the day trip. A lot of waiting around for other passengers after we were picked up from our hotel. Then the guide kept telling us we were doing the cheap trip. And if we hadn’t booked the cheap trip to tell him. This was the cheap trip. Then we had 45 mins at the pearl “farm” where the demonstration was very superficial and it was hard sell in the shop- you were stalked by one of the many many staff as you perused the showcases. Waited an extra 15 minutes for some other passengers to turn up. Off to the harbour. Boat goes very slowly and not very far from port. Fishing is handline and no one catches anything. Snorkelling average. Lunch average but plenty of it and they do cater for vegetarians. Slowly go to another area for snorkelling which has better coral not so many fish. Back to harbour and bus to Sao beach. Crowded, loud jet skis and nice white sand. 45 minutes there then back to hotel. At $17 a head it IS a cheap trip and you get what you pay for. …

There are some pretty fish to look at but the coral is almost all dead, and wrapped in old fishing nets in many places. Sad to see the asians walking on the reefs and diving down to break bits off. There is also rubbish, old bottles, plastic bags etc.

My wife and I loved our snorkelling trip. We visited two islands, the first of which 'Finger nail island' was not great as there was some litter in the sea. 'Turtle island' was much nicer although I'm not sure turtles have ever been there. The trip on the boat was very good and the boat is great for relaxing. Lunch on board was nice.…

Ruby was very helpful and on top of changes during our booking, and the boat trip was a nice relaxing way to check out the island. Most of Vietnam doesn't have great snorkeling or fishing, as long as you don't expect too much and just enjoy the waters it'll be a nice day!
