We stopped here as part of a tour- it was good to learn about the oysters and see the pearl being opened and then seeing the end result in the shop. We ended up buying a few pearl items from here which we thought was a good price until we go to HCMC where we found real pearls for much cheaper. To know whether a pearl is real or not you scratch it and if it makes a mark then it is fake, if the pearl is in tact and dust comes off it then it's real. If you're stopping off in HCMC you're better off going there and getting real pearls for much cheaper. We made the mistake of getting it in this pearl shop but now we know I want to let everyone else know. Go there to see the pearl being opened but just don't buy anything from there.

This is a large shop selling a variety of jewellery. Some of the silver and pearl pieces are very attractive as souvenirs from the island. I think the prices are quite high but bought a necklace and mother of pearl earrings. When in Rome...

We got recommended by our hotel as a must-see on the island.
Outside they provide a brief intro of types of pearls and how they harvest one. And inside it was not even close to a farm but a pearl shop instead that sells necklace, rings, earrings made with pearls.
Staff there was unwelcoming and unskilled. I bought a pair of earrings but they forgot one of the earring holder and I had to come back to demand one. Luckily they offered it rightaway, no-question-asked (but keep their bill with you, just in case)
I would not recommend a visit unless you wanna buy pearls.

Visited as part of a day tour for almost an hour. Quite educational as you learn how they extract the pearl from the shell and make many beautiful ornaments. Not many visitors around when we visited as the Covid 19 pandemic was just starting. On the 1st floor was a big showroom and there were lots of beautiful pearl products displayed. If you like pearls, this is the place for you.

We visit the pearl farm as our guide told us Phu Quoc Island is really much famous for pearl since years. We got chance to see the antiquities & oyster inside with pearl. Great information about how they culture the pearl from beginning to ending. We saw pearl powder as well. Different design for pearls. Many Vietnamese visit this place

The NZ management need to take all their staff on a course on how to treat customers properly and sell in a professional manner. We have just been there today and is a disgrace how they go about business. All the staff are young and totally unskilled on how to sell. They have no clue on what it takes and show a total disinterest. The body language does not encourage any interaction. I selected a necklace, some earrings and a pendant. While negotiating a price (I was offered a $5 discount on $400, $5!!! and she thought she was doing me a favour) the necklace was taken away by a colleague to be put in a box and replaced with a cheaper piece less than half the price. I saw it point blank and I told them so we just walked out. They knew they had been rumbled. Totally dishonest and if they can they will rip you off 100%. You have to avoid or have your eyes open at all times.

The "pearl farm" is basically a big pearl shop with absurd prices (really ridiculous prices, in HCMC you will find the same products for a tenth of the price).
You get there, and you see around 10 big tourist buses in the parking. You are given a badge with a number (because your taxi driver, who wears the same badge as you, will get a commission on whatever you buy).
You are forced into the shop, crowded and expensive. You get out, running. You eventually spot a table where a lady is opening oysters to show the tourists the pearls inside. She doesn't say a word. You ask for information (how old was the oyster, etc), and she answers in good English. So it is not a problem of language, it is simple lack of interest and professionalism. You can buy the tiny pearls from her at 200.000 vnd each. If you want to get at least one as a souvenir, please know that you will be stuck for an extra 15 minutes = the time for your taxi driver to go back to the shop and get his/her commission on the 200.000 vnd you just spent. It is an absurd tourist trap.

Spent awhile choosing a pearl and necklace to buy - didn't check it as I assumed it was the one I'd chosen, bought it then when getting back later in the day I had a look at it and it's not what I chose - I chose a single pearl with a decorated attachment on pearl to go onto the chain, the one in box was plain with no detail at all - avoid this place or if purchasing make sure your chosen item is put into the box in front of you

We wanted to see a pearl farm actually with no intention to go shopping but this place is just for buying pearls. However there is a lady opening fresh oysters showing how they get a pearl from it and you can even touch and hold the pearls. Still, we ended buying a pearl ring and earrings as they looked really beautiful and the price was reasonable (25€-32€), however those were among the cheapest you could get there. They also give you some certificate of authenticity in Vietnamese so I have no idea what is written in there. But I think it is safe to buy pearls in this place, they looked professional and we also saw some employees working on new pieces of pearl beauties directly in the shop.

Visited as part of a tour, spent 40 mins here. There were hundreds of visitors. On arrival, the staff explain the pearl growing process for a couple of minutes, after which you are directed to the product showroom. The supposed farm is in fact a large shop where the overpriced pearl products are displayed on sale.
Unless you really want to buy pearls, we would definitely advise anyone to avoid this place and spend the time on something else (you can just Youtube a couple of clams getting cracked open).
There's a nice beach and a chance to buy ice cream though.
