We joined a kayaking trip with OnBird here to explore another beach located at the beyond side of the cape. Really beautiful sunset that we caught on kayak as we drifted the kayak with the current on a super calm sea. What a beautiful moment.

We were looking to swim somewhere away from the crowds and artificially created resorts and if this is your thing, you will love it! Great, peaceful beach, clean sea and one or two local restaurants for some food and drinks. No loud tourists and music :) We have read other reviews and after spending a few days here we can say that the beach and water itself is clean, however road to here is in a really bumpy state (I guess one the construction works at the nearby resort will finish it should be ok) and it seems that there are no regulations regarding building materials and trash, which you can see in piles when driving to the beach. Apart from this, this is lovely place and I hope that mass construction will not destroy it. Although they will really need to work on solutions regarding garbage.

As the people who have visited Phu Quoc island and especially North side know the beaches are beautiful over there. Tranquil, still untouched by real estate development and you can really enjoy the white sand and clear water at its best. However unfortunately recently these deserted beaches in the North on the island have become an attraction for the thieves. While the tourists are enjoying the beautiful scenery and nature they are also unaware of the hidden thieves lurking in the bushes. While you go swimming make sure always have someone to watch over your belongings as the thief will sneak up to your bag and take it even if you keep an eye on it! And if you are alone, then make sure to have waterproof bags to take with you, do not leave your bags on the beach even for a quick swim!
We were rubbed on one of these Vung Bau Bay beaches in May 2014, We were enjoying the scenery and went swimming only a few meters from the shore still having our eyes on my bag, when suddenly on the deserted beach a thief (dressed in t-shirt, light blue capri denim shorts, a white baseball cap and was probably in his 20's Vietnamese most likely)sneaked up from the bushes and snatched my bag. We shouted at him and tried to go after him but he quickly got on to a motorcycle (hidden behind the bush) with another guy and they quickly rode off! Along with the bag we lost both of our cash we had with us, my camera, two mobile phones, my boyfriend's wallet with all his ID's, certifications, cards etc. and my Visa electron card.
We were fortunate we didn't have anything else in the bag and thieves did not get more money than what we had in the bag. But still be very very aware while travelling around the island and deciding to go for a quick swim on these beaches.
I truly hope one day someone catches one of these thieves who stole my bag but as for myself I would not take another chance of leaving my bag on the beach on its own and with increasing number of tourists on the island, there will be more thieves lurking around so watch out. It is a shame as the beaches over there are still unspoiled by tourism, so they are worth to visit. Just make sure you are not carrying any valuables with you while visiting or you have someone watching over your bag while having a dip in the water and spread the message so that there will not be any more victims for these dishonest rubbers.

I travel to Cambodia to see beach but Sihanoukville make me sad. I say NO! I will NOT be broken by their filthy beaches so I come here, to Phu Quoc and plan to see real beach! But I get here and my dream break into pieces like piniata! :( :(
The beach here so bad. It full of plastic and waste. They have no one clean the beach and it full of garbage, diapers, bottles, cans, net, rope, paper, wrappers, wood, shells, ded fish, tires, part of the boat. It make me so angry!
Then I walk on beach and I see the black pipes from resort. My father plumber in Juarez so I know what pipe like this do. It carry filth from resort into beautiful ocean! My heart break when I see this site. THe people no care about trash or putting their potty into the ocean. They kill fish, coral, wildlife because they too lazy to build waste plant or use trash can. I no understand how the people here disrespect their own land like this. They foul their beach and use it as toilet! How do you do this to beach? It bring tourist like me but when I come, I hate it because of trash and filthy. I will not swim with diaper, poopy, and pee from these pipes.
I so angry about beach I decide to get drunk. I go to bar and order tequila. The girl give me shots and I drink so many I forget where I am. I try to walk to hotel but the alley confuse me and the signs no help because they say weird things. No one around to help me so I have to sleep on the ground.
I crawl into the tree because I feel sick, and I find mattress that say "TWEETY" on it. I sleep on this mattress and in night a dog come to me and sleep with me, then come the cats. I glad my animal friends here becuase they keep the rat and lizard away. I wake up and have headache but pet dog and buy him treats because he keep the bad animals away and also did not let the filthy people who live by the beach rob me of my dollars.

Very nice and quiet beach but it seems that there is a nudist area there. Many nudists are tanning and enjoying - so be prepared before you go ;-)

Went their and if had garbage all over.I actually spent four days taking all the liter off the beach. This beach is now clean. There really are few people that visit the beach. The locals seem to bisit it about 3 o'clock. If you want peace this is your place. You can be all natural with nature and there won't any body to see you and your partner.Hoing to the right of the beach and walk about ten minutes and the beach will be all yours. However,if you go bring your own drinks and food. There is really nothing around.Make sure you bring your trash back with you.

The beach is totally covered in washed up rubbish - light bulbs, food cartons, plastic bags, shoes, condoms, household waste, plastic bottles etc. The water has lots of bags floating in it. It changes a bit during the day, presumably depending on tides and wind. That is just what you can see...
The water doesn’t look that clean and we saw four box jellyfish (we looked them up - not good news) and saw an absolutely massive one washed up on the beach.
It is a total tragedy, but the whole island has a massive rubbish problem - it is just everywhere you go. We certainly would not come back until it is resolved but it is so bad it will take a long time even it is addressed now.

Having reda the reviews I was not sure if I had been to same beach as a couple of reviewers.
We stopped off hee whilst biking around to Dai Beach. We had a lovely swim in very clear warm water. Not many people around, mostly on a snorkelling tour. The sand was very nice, pretty scenery. Unfortunately locals leave their rubbish after picnicking and some plastic in the water.
If you want a nice beach with few other people this is worth a trip. Lot easier to get to the Sai beach and almost as pretty, and without the crappy restaurants, development (yet) and buzzing jet ski.
Ps the photos on this page does not really do it justice.

We arrived around 10am in the morning and we had the beach all by ourselves. A bit of bumpy roads but least of an issue compared to nusa penida. Wear a mask and don’t wear white! You will thank me for that later. Bike parking is free. Beach is about 100-200m walk from there. It’s truly a hidden gem with clear water and peaceful surroundings. Do bring your own drinks and food as there isn’t any stall around. Please keep this beautiful beach clean! We left about 12pm and saw a lot of locals coming in for lunch break.

Very clean beach and clear water, with a small coral reef nearby. Unfortunately, the land has been sold to a developer therefore all fenced since March 2018. This is not unusual on this island!
