You can't access the park itself, but there are some walks you can do by yourself. We rented motorbikes and drove on dirt roads to visit one trail. It was two km of easy walk (slippers). We saw two types of monkeys, hornbills and countless butterflies. Visit phuquocislandguide for descriptions, the vietnamese version has several maps with starting points of the trails that are not available in English.

By the time i was on the island, it was absolutely forbidden to get into the park. Quite bad and sad. Some treks were proposed by agencies but they were not in the real NP which is located in the north/north-east of the island. The only way to have a glance at it was driving through the dirt road leading to Ganh Dau from the new "highway" that goes to Bai Thom (turn left at the junction - about 12 kms north of Duong Dong). On this dirt road, there was a typical fishermen village called Rach Vem at the kilometer stone number 12. There was a sign saying Rach Vem: 1,5 kms on the right. Get there for a walk. Then, when you will be back to the dirt road, you will drive through 10 kms of immaculate forest leading to Ganh Dau. Make few stops. Cut off the engine and listen for a while. You are in the national park.

We had a good tour guide named Zoom Zoom, who made our forest trial in National Park very interesting. We four people including my 8 year old son walked around 1 hour in the park. Zoom Zoom showed us so many typical trees, mushrooms and other plants and animals of here in Vietnam. There is a forest trial way of 20K totally for one way. You have to return back on the same way. On our way back, we met a severe rain unexpectedly, which made us think of the story of Forrest Gump. Yes, the sudden rain, That is Vietnam!

Just driving around looking at trees, unfinished buildings, parking lots. No wildlife. Nothing but roads and trees. The island beach area was worth visiting but no worth the trouble of getting there

I and my friends both locals and travelers go trekking in the forest for more 2 hours and reach to the waterfall and stream that has many special plants to see and many things to do like doing meditation, seeing special mushrooms and orchids... the best thing is you can do snorkeling in a small pond be the waterfall....
I love love love trekking and connecting with Nature! Much fun....can not share by words, experience by your own way! Cảm ơn bạn - Herotus -

We took a rented motorbike to see the 'Forest Walk' marked on our map in the north of the island. Looking at the map here of this National Park it was on the northern perimeter. It turned out to be a 18km drive in a very lonely road, through dense forest. Just trees and more trees. We felt very vulnerable and as it turned out not without reason...
We had a nasty, upsetting experience. It could have been much worse if not for quick thinking and a fast getaway. Some youths coming in the opposite direction saw us, stopped and ran into the trees to break down some branches to use to knock us off our bike, presumably to mug us (at best), the worse.... doesn't bear thinking about! So beware.
The island is fast spoiling with massive developments, so visit soon if you want to see the island before it's totally spoiled. They also have a huge rubbish problem, with plastics and polystyrene containers and other household waste just dumped everywhere.

My Sister and I spend a couple hours hiking in the National Park. It was incredibly beautiful. Our driver Nam suggested this stop and we were very happy he made the suggestion.

The forrest is nice, but the ground is filled up with garbage. Boxes from food and snacks, beverages, cigarettes, plastic bags.. and a lot of it.

We took a tour into the park to go kayaking on the river followed by a jungle walk. It was a fantastic day out, especially canoeing with no one else around and thick jungle along the riverbanks. We had a guide to take us on a short walk through the jungle which was impressive to see. The only downfalls were the cost (we had to pay for a private tour as there weren't enough people booked on our trip) and the lunch, which was very basic. We opted for a local tour company as money goes directly back into the local community.

This is one of the best beach in Viet Nam. It is near Cambodia and lies within Thailand gulf, you will fall in love with its white-sand beaches and resorts, most of which are along the palm-lined southwest coast. You can vacation here and do all kinds of activities like motobiking, hiking and wildlife wiewing. And not to mention about Vietnamese authentic seafood !

There is no access to the park, but some short trails in the surrounding bush can be accessed. A taxi can bring you there or you can go by moped, although not easy to find. Google to find trails on the maps ( see my post for hints)
