- やすTokyo, Japan13 contributionsNight market to enjoy Phu QuocIt's very lively and I think it's a good place to go if you want to feel like you're in Southeast Asia. However, it may be difficult to get people to care about hygiene. The staff were friendly and I had a good time overall. You may need the courage to say no to a hard sell.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 20, 2024
- MarierxthLiege, Belgium127 contributionsDescribed as unmissable, there is nothing authentic about this market.A night market dedicated to souvenirs made in China and street food. If some restaurants display quality products, it is better to be careful and attentive because poor quality products are also unfortunately very numerous. The aquariums are full of fish which are always fresh > numerous dead fish. Solicitation is everywhere to sell at all costs. Damage…Visited March 2024Traveled with friendsWritten March 30, 2024
- HuddersTHuddersfield, United Kingdom145 contributionsFun eveningA fun evening in Phu Quoc. It was busy with lots of atmosphere and we really enjoyed browsing the stalls. There are a lot of stalls selling food, especially seafood, but we had already had our evening meal so visited one of the stalls selling cocktails, it was great to enjoy our drinks watching the market. The stalls are similar to those in any Vietnamese market, but it’s lively and worth a visit if you’re in Phu Quoc. There are plenty of taxis / golf carts to hire if you are staying a little further away.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten April 10, 2024
- FrancoV3Turin, Italy125 contributionsTouristy, but worth seeingTypical Asian market for tourists. They sell anything, but mostly souvenirs and food. The level of cleanliness is decidedly above average, the sellers assiduously offer their products, but without being annoying. Always low prices, for Europeans, and good quality of food. Unfortunately the "Asianness" of the place is very evident in the tanks where the fish is kept alive (so to speak) outside the restaurants to attract customers. A scene that, due to our habits, can be unpleasant.Visited April 2024Traveled with familyWritten May 13, 2024
- Né AndradeCoimbra, Portugal12 contributionsTo visit but be careful in restaurantsIt's not the biggest I've ever been to, but it has a lot of variety and food on offer. Our Sea Food dinner didn't go well, we ordered one thing based on the photos and another came, and we chose crab by weight and on the scale it weighed 550 but we paid for 700 even after complaining. Anyway . The rest went well as I ate delicious freshly made ice cream.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 24, 2024
- sunilsadhwaniHong Kong, China204 contributionsPhu Quoc Night MarketIt was our first visit to Phu Quoc and the night market is certainly recommended to see, if for nothing else than to tick it off your list. We’ve seen and experienced many other night markets and this is not really something to go out of your way for. Very average experience with nothing special to see or imbibe.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten August 17, 2024
- McCullough.FamilyLisburn, United Kingdom496 contributionsMarket is okNot the best or worst Night Market I have been to. A little over priced. The food we had was ok but about 4 times the price. The price of snacks is great value. I found it a bit annoying how many times you keep getting asked to buy things, I have not experienced it as bad as this anywhere else in Vietnam. I think it is still worth an hour of your life to visit there for the experience and to make up your own mind. This is only my family's opinion.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 7, 2024
- KirstinWilsonMelbourne, Australia117 contributionsSame same but differentA quiet simple night market with enough to visit but do t expect to purchase a lot. The normal touristy type vendors with rolled ice cream, tons of restaurants and simple food options. We loved our Chocolate Crepes, Thai dinner and rolls icecreams. A 40+bus FREE ride from Grandworld.Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 2, 2024
- Passenger791696Sydney, Australia28 contributionsWorth a ride, if you’re in Phú QuôcNice place to get into the mix of the people, a little hustle n’ bustle and some cheap street food. There are also multiple restaurants serving lots of fresh seafood in tanks alive ready for your picking. You can most certainly grab anything from drinks, to ice cream, to eating shark or frogs to clothing, jewellery, toys, vapes/cigars/cigarettes, medicinal items, and much more. It’s worth a trip down if you like to eat with some local folks down by the water and soak up a little hecticness!!Visited October 2024Traveled with familyWritten October 10, 2024

It was a lively and fun atmosphere.
The seafood restaurant that our friendly taxi driver introduced us to was delicious.
I especially recommend the lobster, which is something you rarely get to eat.
However, the smell of the market here is quite strong.
The foot massage was given by a transgender person who seemed to enjoy it.

Phu Quoc has two main night markets - one in Duong Dong which is the capital city and the other close to airport and Best Western hotel.
Both are pretty much the same offering street food everywhere. If you've visited any such in continental Vietnam you don't need visiting these.

We arrived around 4:15pm , we just want to stroll around the night market street , a lot of hard sale promoting their products from vendors , stalls and restaurants here . Some shops already open at this time , we bought some souvenirs from King Kong mart outlet here . We didn’t try the street food here as we find it unhygienic with flies .

It could be an enjoyable evening stroll....except for the hawkers yelling at you, waving menu's and even grabbing you to go to their shops.
But the absolute worse is the idiots banging on the steal plates for the ice cream rolls. There were two teenage kids in competition who could bang the fastest and loudest. I am quite sure if the owner of the stand saw this the would be out of a job!
If you don't mind the noise, and you enjoy getting ripped off for just about everything, but particularly the food, then I say go.
I went with wife and brother-in-law and nephew, all of which are Vietnamese, and when told the price of some food, they went into shock. I was not near them so the sellers did not see me so they could raise the price.
The hawkers are equal opportunity rip-offs.
It's a shame, because the seafood looked beautiful, but I guess in their mind better to sell a little for a lot. Than a lot for little.

It's just another market. The prices are very high and basically you will be ripped off.
One small grilled fish was £23, you can get in the UK for £6. My Mrs is Vietnamese and was so disappointed on how the shop owners have become. One word, greed.

I had not been to Phu Quoc for many years so this was my first visit to the new bigger and relocated night market. As soon as we arrived some guy dressed in a costume and monkey mask thrust a lollipop into my 4 year old daughter's hand and then demanded money for it. Needless to say he got it straight back but that set the tone for the visit. The place was packed with mostly Vietnamese tourists and I was waiting to get my pockets picked but thankfully it didn't happen. The rest of the visit was pretty much entirely spent declining offers of peanuts getting shoved in my face by the black shirted peanut pests who are literally everywhere you turn. Eventually found a nice lady with a juice stall and some quiet comfy chairs out of the way of the crowds so that was the highlight for me The old night market was smaller but it was way better. This one is only good if you like crowds and peanuts.

Disappointing experience. Boder immediately. Pearls, fish, ice, barbaque and flies & krims and so from the front again. Noisy ice sellers standing and beating with their spartles to attract attention (acting the opposite). Knallerts that drive between the already crowded crowd.
If you come for the food, then choose another street kitchen nearby, they guarantee equally good food, in less noisy environments.

Loved this place and went nightly during our stay in the area.
The first night we chose one of the more restaurant style stalls in the market where you pick out food or live seafood and they cook it for you. I would avoid this as the food wasn’t great and was extremely overpriced.
The smaller food stalls where the best and lots of desert and ice cream stalls.
Was totally expecting to get a bit of an upset stomach from our food choices but was totally fine!

A typical touristy night market, with a twist. You've got all your gift stalls, pepper, coconut, fish sauce etc and when you arrive to leaving all you can hear is the banging of the Ice Cream roll guys!! It's really good to see and for about £1 You get a pretty tasty ice cream!
The market is also full of fresh seafood restaurants, all of them very busy selling everything from prawns to sea urchin! And very reasonably priced. We really enjoyed our plate of simply bbq'd king prawns.
Well worth a visit.

Never come back to HUY BAO restaurant at Night Market. Terrible restaurant, cheating customers. We paid 750kVND for 2 very small seafoods with around 400g. Recipe was very badly. Services was unexceptable. No pricelist for seafoods, ridiculous
