Simply Stunning
Mar 2020
The reason this beach is so wonderfully maintained is for the very reason people are so upset - because it is closed to the public. We visited other beaches on the island and due to the complete lack of care that human beings have for the preservation of nature and it's beauty, they were all covered in litter and disrespected.

By comparison this beach was simply magical, peaceful and free of litter and debris. So beautiful and you could easily spend hour lounging in it's paradise.

Closed to the public

Beach is closed for the public. Very sad how this is happening to beaches across the island. Some resorts under construction have bought up the entrances to some of Phu Quoc’s best beaches.

Best beach on Phu Quoc Island
Feb 2019 • Couples
You need to stay at a resort to access this beach. Obviously that’s exactly what we did. It’s well worth it as this beach is kept clean and is top 5 most beautiful and romantic beaches I have experienced in the world. Well worth the investment to stay here. Nothing else on Phu Quoc even comes close. It’s rarely busy as they don’t let day trippers in! Ignore the bad reviews they are obviously angry they can’t get in. But it’s a small beach, if they allowed everyone in, it just wouldn’t be the same. 5/5, book a hotel here it’s well worth the price.

Don’t even bother

Only guest at the resorts. One of the guards at the entrance told us we could pay 500,000 Vietnam Dongs per person (about 20usd per person) and spend the day, well by the time we arrive to the front desk, they told us it was not possible getting in at all because of the “holiday” season. Ugh... ridiculous, I mean I understand is private property (including the beach) that’s why we were whiling to pay to get in, but the fact that they don’t even allow the access is just not OK!

Save your money and go to Sao Beach just 2 km from there, we went there and it was amazing, I rather to leave my money with the local business instead to give it to the already billionaires owners of those resorts.

Resorts everywhere. If you not stay in one of them than you can't go there. We try two access and we have no luck.

Great hotels and resorts in the area. The beach is clean with clear waters. Nice for a day out to the hotels and resorts in the area. Good for families and friends.

Best beach on the island

Ok this is hard to get to, if you follow the main roads for the new hotels, you will NOT get to the beach.

The way to the beach is the following way...come out of the coconut prison and turn left going up the hill. As you are driving up the highway take the first u turn slot and head back to the coconut prison, but just before you get to the boundary of the prison turn right down the side of prison wall.

The road down the side of the prison will take a 4x4 for so long, but really it's only for motorbikes...

Follow the path until you get to the parking area next to the only two beach shacks on the beach and walk down.

The motorbike from the main road takes about 10 minutes, but just take your time as the road is not good.

Food and drink is cheaper on this beach as it's not full of tourists.

Khem Beach (Restricted Access)
Mar 2018 • Couples
We came here from Sao beach and immediately could see the big difference.

Khem Beach was more exclusive and private for JW Merriot guests. We came to one of their two restaurants for lunch, after which we had free access to the beach itself.

We stayed here for all the shots we wanted and enjoyed the sand, waters and landscape fully. From earlier reviews, it would seem that accessing the beach by sea will have you chased off by security, so I do recommend coming to treat yourself to a better-than-usual meal, thereafter allowing you to spend the time you want at the beach.

Arrived to the beach by Kayak and a security guard didn’t even let me walk into it. The beach is beautiful but the water nearby full of plastic and other waste.
