Khem Beach is a stunning beach and as others have mentioned some of it is private. The only bit we couldn’t go on was in front of JW Marriott, the guard stopped us! We actually walked right to the end of the beach to a shack (yes there was more rubbish on that bit of the beach as you walk there) but in front of the shack it was tidy. They serve food & drinks at a very reasonable prices.
We also took the PeakTime bus (we are not Korean) and the cost was 50,000 VND per person each way, so much cheaper than a taxi/grab taxi. We got an updated timetable from a PeakTime shop. The drivers spoke good English to ask where you were going & if you were on the right bus! You would honestly be better using this bus to go to the north & south of the island including the cable car than getting a taxi.

As many reviewers note below, the reason this beach is nice is because it has been privatized and the hotels clean it every time the tide goes out. Unfortunately compared to other parts of Phu Quoc Island there is a lot of rubbish and seaweed - maybe because of proximity to the port town just south, maybe just the way the currents go. But the cleaning staff diligently and thoroughly clean it up every day. The setting of the beach with its wide stretch of sand, gentle waves or complete calm depending on the day, and warm water make this a lovely beach.

This is by far the best and most beautiful beach on this island. We tried others but as it was mentioned before they are not clean and maintained.
We were able to use the beach( well part of it) that doesn't belong to some of the reaorts. It is not crowded as you would expect.
To get to Khem Beach from Duong city, a grab will cost around or a bit over 300k one way. We stayed near the night market and the taxi cost us 340k.
But we only took a taxi for one day, as we found a korean shuttle bus called Peaktime( acros the Kingkong market; 141A Đường Trần Hưng Đạo, Dương Tơ, Phú Quốc, Kiên Giang) that has a stop minutes away from the beach which is either Premier Residence resort or New World resort. The ticket cost 20,000 VND per person one way. Some buses have the last stop at the cable car as well.
An important thing to mention is that this shuttle bus is apparently only for koreans, but we went and used it anyway. You don't need to buy a ticket from their office, the bus timetables are displayed outside, just make sure you are getting in the right bus( they are numbered) and pay the ticket when the bus driver comes to you. I saw that they have buses towards other attraction points, in the south and north of the island.
I attached in the photos their current bus timetables.

WONDERFUL PARADISE BEACH
We found this beach today and extended our trip just so we can come here for a few more days. Lots of good restaurants arounds, beach bars, etc. Not cheap but absolutely worth the gorgeous view.
The beach is clean with white fine sand and sky blue water.
The best beach on the island, no doubt.

The reason this beach is so wonderfully maintained is for the very reason people are so upset - because it is closed to the public. We visited other beaches on the island and due to the complete lack of care that human beings have for the preservation of nature and it's beauty, they were all covered in litter and disrespected.
By comparison this beach was simply magical, peaceful and free of litter and debris. So beautiful and you could easily spend hour lounging in it's paradise.

I came to Phu Quoc for a couple of days of beach time before heading home. Ong Lang was a total disappointment and I was going to visit Sao beach but read reviews on Trip Adviser saying it was dirty etc. I went to Khem beach instead and was blown away by how beautiful and peaceful it was. Perfectly flat, amazing clear water and not busy until late afternoon. I spent the day at Istanbul on a day bed enjoying the drinks and food, and lazing in the water. A perfect day on an idyllic beach.

You need to stay at a resort to access this beach. Obviously that’s exactly what we did. It’s well worth it as this beach is kept clean and is top 5 most beautiful and romantic beaches I have experienced in the world. Well worth the investment to stay here. Nothing else on Phu Quoc even comes close. It’s rarely busy as they don’t let day trippers in! Ignore the bad reviews they are obviously angry they can’t get in. But it’s a small beach, if they allowed everyone in, it just wouldn’t be the same. 5/5, book a hotel here it’s well worth the price.

Beach is closed for the public. Very sad how this is happening to beaches across the island. Some resorts under construction have bought up the entrances to some of Phu Quoc’s best beaches.
