A Thai Boudicca who led the people against Lao invaders 200 years ago, 'though unlike the British heroine, she survived. Rightly she continues to be honoured by the people of Nakon Ratchasima. The statue itself is in front of one of the old city gates on the square moat surrounding the old city.

The famous heroine who defeated an invasion army from Laos 200 years ago and saved Thailand from defeat. The monument situated just 1km south of route 2 in the middle of the large city is a must see. This famous ladies statue and the small park is well kept and very interesting for a short visit.

a nice remerberance for a piece of Thailand history, placing the incense sticks and flowers, I have seen the celebration on the Ya Mo holiday and with the whole region and villages dancing it is a culture spectacle I enjoyed,

This monument is to a local heroine of a couple of hundred years ago who saved the city. If you are Thai and live in the area - my Thai daughters in law knew nothing about her - and want to gain merit, go there. If you are a farang, you'll wonder what the heck it's all about!
