Try the most fun and interesting heritage tour in Angeles City courtesy of the Museo ning Angeles. If you are staying in the city, you can actually have a quick tour to the old city settlement where the famous landmarks can be seen -- the Holy Rosary Parish Church, Bale MAtua, Old Pamintuan Mansion and the Center for Kapampangan Studies at the Holy Angel University.

It stays in the old municipio building which was built in 1922 to house the municipal town hall. It has a picture gallery called "Balikdan" where it tells the history of its town (formerly called "Kuliat") through pictures. It also has dioramas depicting the old town life and its culture and traditions. There's the whole second floor dedicated to the Culinarium, housing everything about food which Angeles City is known for. All in all, the museum is worth visiting.

Located at the central business district of Angeles City, Museo Ning Angeles was the old City Hall of Angeles City turned museum. At the plaza are stalls of restaurants selling rice cakes, barbeques, etc. there is a small restaurant where you can have a drink and sample local delicacies. Be careful of kids begging for money or food.

After we attended the Hot Air Balloon in Clark Airbase Pampanga, our group decided to have a culinary food trip in Angeles City. Never did we though that Museo Ning Angeles would be the highlight of our tour. We just thought that it's just an ordinary museum tour but to our surprise, we will having our lunch there. Not only it boast about the history of Pampanga through Museum tour but they serve culinary food which Pampanga is known for. Hat's off to our Museum Tour Guide named Kim, he's really good in what he's doing, very informative and nice timing on his spiels. The Museum is located in front of Holy Rosary Parish Church. It's a must day tour visit for all those living in the Metro.

We needed to see something in Angeles that wasn't a shopping mall or a red light district. We were glad to have found the Heritage District of which the Museo Ning Angeles is a part of. The upstairs section was closed but Lucio our guide was so informative that the downstairs tour and his knowledge of Pampangan history was more than enough. There's no entry fee but there is a donations box. I also liked his enthusiasm for the restoration of the other heritage buildings in the area. This is across the road from Holy Rosary Parish Church and around the corner from Pamintuan Mansion also a good visit in their own rights.

I just love the place simply because it looked vintage and lots of people are in there too. To the mere fact, it's also in front of the big church makes it feel more historical. They say, this is the heart of Angeles City and it feels good to be here and try their several known dishes. I enjoyed it overall.

The Museum is run by City Government. An old City Hall building turned to Museum.
When we went there, No museum curator assisted us within 1 hour of our visit.
Still, I enjoyed my stay and learned the historical background of Angeles City.
They 2nd floor is Culinarium section in which Pampanga is well known for its culinary expertise. A variety of antique kitchen utensils used by Kapampangans.
A must see attraction!

I grew up in this city and I am proud of having our own museum. I like visiting museums in other cities and countries so why not Museo Ning Angeles and Kapampangan Center. We now have all these to show for. A must-see for locals and tourists.
The old, wooden building/"house" used to be City Hall when I was growing up - kind of condescending only because politics is not my cup of... coffee. So when it became a museum it was my first time to set afoot its premises, my opportunity to examine the exhibits and the "house" solo in 2008 (if memory serves). The second floor, accessible by stairs only, lacked and still lacks some cooling ventilation especially during summer. But being able to open the capiz-tiled windows to the view of Holy Rosary Parish Church across the street is great! Yes, a photo op. I breezed through the dayoramas at the main museum on the ground floor and had a lot of speculative explanations in my head. Afterwards, I headed to the Kapampangan Center in Holy Angel and zipped through it as I was still alone. Photo op at the Retablo by the entrance!
Alas, I returned in 2014 with a couple of friends, one from out-of-town. I found myself taking the same tour but now it's better! We got Kim as our tour guide. He knows his stuff, has a sense of humor, he can be in the photo with you or he can take your picture, and he observes if you're still processing the info and/or display before starting the next narration. It makes a world of difference having a conversation about all of it with a guide and with friends. The Culinarium is new to me since my last visit. The dayoramas and arts seemed more animated. And, I learned that Kuliat, the old town name, is a tree. Whereas, in 2008 I was wondering why there was a paper mache tree there. With Kim, we also got to see Holy Rosary Parish at closed doors - serene and grand. We headed to Kapampangan Center and I finally got to tie stories to the exhibits I'm revisiting. Plus something new: short films at the audio-visual theater and a new Museum of Kapampangan Arts gallery.
Suffice to say, I walked out of this half day with new knowledge and feeling more proud.
BTW, there's an ongoing expansion. So, I'll be back in November. I hope the new wing doesn't get all the pretty stuff, this original wing could use a little bit of lift (but please don't change its character).
