Our location at Double Six Street, Seminyak Beach. Our surf school is conveniently located at the end of Double Six Street where it meets the beach. Head down Double Six Street towards the beach, and when you get to the end, we are right there on the edge of the beach.

Brilliant experience as a raw beginner. Super friendly and knowledgeable teachers make you relax right from the start. Their encouragement and excitement in the water is infectious - it’s like having your own cheer squad out there! I stood up in minutes (fell down a lot too!) and loved it so much I squeezed in another 2 hour session on my last day. Wish I could have done more. Next time!

If you want to experience true Balinese hospitality and culture and learn to surf with some of the best instructors around, head to Surf School Bali in Seminyak. Dedik, owner and lead instructor has been teaching surfing for around 20 years now. Dedik's family goes way back in Seminyak. He knows his home break as good as anyone, and he surfs with style. More than this, he surfs with a smile and joy that is absolutely contagious. And he's imparted this to all the instructors at Surf School Bali, such as Kadek and Berto...if you're lucky you might catch these two jamming after a surf.
Ayu, Dedik's awesome wife, helps run the business and you'll likely see her around as well. I can't recommend these people enough. They will treat you like family, and you'll likely leave having made friends that'll last a lifetime.
Once you get comfortable riding waves, I recommend arranging a day trip somewhere on the island with them. You're bound to have a great adventure.
There are tons of choices for surf schools in Bali now, and many of the big ones are owned and operated by foreigners. Support this local Balinese family business, and have the time of your life doing it!

First time I was in Surf School Bali in August 2012 and I visited again because I loved the instructors so much. Learned a lot and always will recommend this school to anyone!

Where do I start!! I actually visited in April 2018 and wanted to write a review then but the guys weren’t on trip advisor at that point.
I had 5 days of morning surf lessons (beginner) with these guys vis a retreat I was on (ocean soul) that they regularly work with.
Day 1 we started at legian/kuta just down from their school and day 5 we had surfed airport lefts reef break!
The guys at surf school Bali are local so they totally know and understand the waves. But more than this they are THE MOST FRIENDLY, EXCITED, ENCOURAGING, FUNNY AND ENTHUSIASTIC teachers I have ever known. Screams and shouts of encouragement, high fives and singing when you get waves and always understanding and pushing you further.
Next time I’m in Bali I am booking a whole week of lessons. They are simply brilliant, the best!!!

I took some surf lessons at Lombok a year ago but where I really felt confidence and jumped to another level was at Bali, thanks to the great teachers of the Surf School Bali. I spent 4 private lessons of 2 hours and I learned very different and useful things (from technique to safety and self confidence) from 3 different and excellent teachers (hatta, newman and made). From my point of view when you are a beginner it's very important to have a great instructor pushing you, and without any doubt they 3, were excellent.

Awesome value lesson. Half the price and twice as long as Rip Curl. 10 yr old daughter had great lesson. Easy to book via website. Thanks so much.

This surf school is an great place. The staff are so friendly and positive and it has all the facilities you would need. It's also in a great location (on the beach) near shops and places to eat/drink.
I took my friend's 6 year old son and we both had fun. I was really impressed with the way our instructer (Kadet) took good care of my friend's son, keeping him safe, whilst being encouraging.
I often use this surf school when coming to Bali and would recommend it to all people, young and old.
Although this area is more suited to beginners, you can also progress to an intermediate stage if your instructer allows, going further out on bigger waves.
We certainly enjoyed our day and a great time was had by all. Definately smiles all round!

An amazing experience! Lovely people and fun times. The coaches are skilled at their craft, I felt safe and confident at all times, (and humbled by the power of the ocean). They provided quality equipment and surf attire. The best part, all of us caught waves and surfed! What a great work out too.
