Only minutes by car from Swellendam town centre, once checked in with park attendant at the entrance, good unpaved 2WD roads await. A relatively short drive or cross country walk to the commencement of waterfall track. While mostly up hill and steep in parts, it...More

I loved this nature reserve. It is so green and lush. The moment you walk into the greenery you are transported to another realm. The walk to the waterfall was magical. It is a bit slippery but we loved every minute of it. We were...More

I have visited Marloth numerous times as I live nearby. This is such a beautiful, peaceful nature reserve - the ideal place for walking. I feel safe in Marloth. The Duivelsbos waterfall walk is stunning and the Plaat is also a great walk (slightly longer)...More

We enjoyed the walk to the waterfall, on the shaded, clearly marked and well-maintained path. The scenery and sound scapes were beautiful. Only saw three other groups of walkers the whole time which was during peak season and on a weekend, so mostly we felt...More

This is quite possibly the most hidden gem of Swellendam! The forest walk which leads to the waterfall is absolutely beautiful. It just gets a bit strenuous towards the end with a few steep stairs so be careful not to lose your footing. It's about...More

Took the advice of the ranger and did a 3 hour circular hike of about 12 k. The views are magnificent and the paths well defined and signposted. More challenging routes are available. Great way to see Swellendam from on high . Very hot in...More

We stopped off en-route to walk and admire the beauty of the area. It was well worth the small detour.

It should be safe to walk from Swellendam to the main gate of the park. There you will get the information you need and suggestions on how to proceed. You are safe as long as you follow their advice. Have a lovely time!
