Bontebok national park is the smallest national park in South Africa, but a hidden gem. If you are on your way to the Garden Route from Cape Town, a one night stay here is a definite must do. The accommodation is very well sorted with a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ area. You can sit on the porch of the... More

Stayed for two nights in a family cabin and had a super stay. The cabins are clean and well maintained with a lovely view of the Breede river. We also had a walk around the caravan park as we were going to camp but due to bad weather we changed to accommodation. Most camp sites were very nice with clean... More

We visited Swellendam in 2009 but never bothered to visit this small national park This time, we spent a day here, getting several sightings of the Bontebok, Zebra and other rare animals.

Beautiful Bontebok, excellent birdlife, and the Breed River running through the park is a fantastic bonus. The campsites are very well appointed, one can catch fish and it is incredibly peaceful. A really great getaway.

We spent a few late afternoon hours driving thru and walking in this beautiful park. We had our own photo safari as we saw herds of Bontebok, Red Hartebeest and Cape Zebra. What fun!

The wooden cabins are ideally placed. I so enjoyed waking up one morning to see a rainbow over the river. I made coffee and went back to bed and so enjoyed watching the scene from my bed. The bird life all around the cottage is also great. The reserve is close to Swellendam. One can enjoy a drive around the... More

excellent place to relax and explore with friends and family. There's a whole herd of antelope. This reserve is also good for those with a passion for bird life. There day facilities are excellent and well kept. There are brain and picnic facilities along the banks of the river.

You can drive yourself around this park, therefore go at your own pace. Lots of animals, especially Bontebok and Zebra.

Not a very big park, but it allows day campers, overnight campers, chalets and self drive game viewing. The day camp and overnight camp facilities are excellent. Nice for outdoors people, Hike, Bike, kanoo and fishing. The game drive is nice with most of the antelope in the park.

A nice and quiet park, not too far from Cape Town. Decent game viewing (especially of the not so common Bontebok) and lovely walks along the river. Excellent accomodation (as is usual with SAN Parks)
