What a beautiful, peaceful place! We spent one night in the Chapel cottage which was very cosy and well kitted out, with beautiful views of the dam. We will definately be back.

What an awesome weekend! This was the most comfortable and well equipped venue. Definitely wish to do more of their activities in the summer when our girls a little bigger. We will definitely be visiting again.

The cattle egrets make a stunning site as they fly in every evening over the dam in their small flocks, numbering hundreds and hundreds and roost in the trees and reeds on the far side of the dam. The setting is quiet lovely, but the...More

Hi Rosemary Thanks for the feedback regarding your stay at Umshanti. Glad you noticed the egrets, it is really an amazing site to see every morning and evening. I'm sorry about your bin not being emptied, but my cleaner tried a few times to get...More

On the day of our road trip a very rude lodge owner decided to cancel our reservation. We were half through to Swellendam and were desperate to to find accommodations. After several attempts our trip was saved thanks to the very friendly Oom Koosie. The...More

A group of 30 of our friends were fortunate enough to spend an unforgettable weekend at Umshanti. I was pleasantly surprised as to how accommodation the management were to us, considering we were such a large (and admittedly rowdy!) group. The grass embankment overlooking the...More

Hi, thanks for your enquiry. We have 3 camp sites. One site has total shade from a tree, the other two only have a 3x3 meter shade covering. Let me know if you have any other questions. Regards, Vicky
