Impressive church

Very imposing from the outside given it's scale on the street, but tranquil inside. Well worth a visit if open. Small donation requested.

This is a lovely church, magnificent and statuesque. However, please be aware that it is only open to the public during the week (tourism info did not tell me this), but you could go and visit on Sunday when they hold their services. I could not get into the grounds to look around as the gates were locked (this was... More

Dating from 1801, this is a lovely historic building with a long history. Situated in main street and a true landmark.

The Dutch Reform Church is probably the nicest public building in Swellendam with well kept burial grounds surrounding the church.

This is one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen. Over 100 years old, set against the mountains it is a breathtaking sight. An absolute must if you ate in the area.

This is one building that you just can't miss in Swellendam. It stands out proud and tall. Even the houses in the vicinity offer excellent photo opportunities.

When you stop to take a quick pic be sure to go inside for a quick look too. It's worth your time to see grand circular seating in an family church.

Well we had a close look at Swellendam's main attraction in all the guide books .... up close and it's a really nice historic edifice but regretably it's just not possible to ge into the grounds let alone the building for a look round - would have been good and respectful.
