An attractive Fynbos reserve easily accessible to all. Well maintained and an excellent time to visit is early spring through to summer. Fairly good restaurant on site and worth a visit. Excellent venue for hiking / rambling and some walks fairly steep so do wear sturdy footwear and carry a good supply of water plus of course a wind cheater.... More

So many trails to choose from ranging from beginner to advance. I have lived in Somerset West for many years and I still find new trails to explore around this beautiful mountain!

It was a beautiful sunny winters day and my son, Joshua, wanted to go climb the mountain! We took him to the Helderberg Nature Reserve and we started walking up the mountain! He was enthralled climbing up the mountain. Loved walking over the little bridges, between bushes, birds flying around and obviously enjoy stopping now and again to drink his... More

We came here for a quick hike and spent a couple of hours walking the trails. The view of the bay is amazing and the flowers as well. There is a fee per car to enter. They have summer concerts and shows that is worth investigating. There is usually people with children having parties/picnics on the lawns where you park.

Well-marked walks, vary from easy to strenuous. Benches in place to rest or just admire the views. Interesting birdlife in the dam. Very good notice board with examples and descriptions of the flora. Wheelchair friendly boardwalks. Tea-room with friendly staff and simple meals. Gift-shop and information center, good ablution facilities.

Fortunately, the children's play area is situated where sounds are not heard once you are on a walking trail. The choice is vast, from a leisurely walk to an exercise in testing your stamina to the extreme! Either choice ensures you will enjoy a peaceful, noise-free area with the absolute delight of discovering how those of "many legs" and wings... More

Great place to unwind, or to meet up with friends and family for a picnic, or for the more adventurous, to escape to all the beautiful mountain trails.

Very well kept territory of the park with many trails with different level of difficulty. The lady in the information centre is very kind and will advise you on which trail suits you better. The park doesn't have a lot of trees, but is mostly covered in shrubs - so don't forget a sunscreen or a hat on a sunny... More

Wonderful to visit this Reserve again. Walk, hike or run - views of the Helderberg are amazing. Great for kids to run around and play.
