We visited the Morgenster Wine and Olive farm at the insistence of my sister and her husband ( who are both teetotaller, I might add) We were fortunate enough to meet the absolutely delightful Giulio, who is the owner and to be taken around by him. He is justly proud of his beautifully run and positioned farm , which is... More

This was a delightful lunch, with excellent red wine from the wine farm. The grilled Norwegian salmon was cooked perfectly to order, and the chicken breast baked in white wine and mushrooms was delicious. The chicken was served piping hot right through the breast, something I have not had in a long time - excellent. Food served on warm plates.... More

We went here on a whim and had 2 lovely tastings. One was Italian and accompanied by chocolates which were made to go together. Astoundingly we really noticed how flavor changed especially between the cinnamon chocolate and the chili one both with one wine. Interesting, different and fun. They also produce olives and do 4 oil tastings which we did... More

We stopped on our way to Hermanus from Cape Town and we're very glad we did. We made a new discovery - that there's not only wine tasting but olive oil tasting! What a great experience this was. The crackers and bread to clear the palate after each taste of a different olive oil were great, (& also delicious when... More

We arrived at Morgenster early in the morning on a cold and rainy day. From the minute we walked in, we felt like royalty. They had a roaring log fire burning, and we sat inside next to the fire on a very comfortable couch. We did a very well informed wine tasting and then had the olive and olive oil... More

Morgenster Tasting room is a wonderful outing for the whole family to enjoy. The Olive oil tasting is especially one that opens the mind to fascinating aspects of local agriculture that South Africans can be proud of. The tastings are the perfect balance of personal and professional. One feels relaxed but at the same time well taken care of. The... More

Very unfriendly staff After being ignored for a while when we came in and waited to be seated a very stuck up old lady came over and at a very unwelcoming unpleasant manner told us that it was not possible to do the olive tasting. Even though we checked the opening hours on the internet they were closed. Because of... More

My family and I visited Morgenster Estate because we had been at neighboring Vergelegen. We opted for the wine and the olive oil tasting. It was our first time tasting olive oil - although we learnt some interesting things, this did not suit our tastes, but that is a personal preference; it may have been better if they had not... Every year we visit Morgenster Personally it's one of my favourite wine farms The olive oil tasting is great (I feel I should be so knowledgeable now) and the wines are really good The Tosca Italians and the Morgenster Reserve are particularly good The Caruso rose is easy drinking and the NU sav blanc is excellent value for palate and... Visited the Morgenster Wine and Olive Farm as part of a Wine tasting tour Organised by African Bushveld Tours & Safari. It was a pleasant surprise to taste the variety of Olive oils produce along with the various olive pastes. My wife and I found the Lemon flavoured Olive oil an actual delight. There were also many excellent wines demonstrated,... More
