We visited for lunch. The restaurant was relatively quiet and delightfully peaceful and cool on a very hot day. The shortish menu was just what we wanted and the service good, but unobtrusive. We enjoyed lovely Sauvignon wines with superb bbq prawns and then fell asleep under the oak trees. What better way to spend an afternoon?

A wonderful meal at this family owned estate, we are told that it is the largest family owned wine estate in South Africa. We were taken here for dinner by a friend who lives locally and we had the Springbok steak wrapped in proscuitio - an absolutely superb meal. Truly melt in the mouth stuff. Fantastic service to boot. Then... More

Lourensford is a beautiful wine estate. The gardens are magical. The terrace of the Millhouse restaurant is very nicely situated and an absolute pleasure to have lunch or dinner. The menu ranges from pizza to an extremely tasty porkbelly. Service is friendly and professional. Dishes are beautifully prepared with care and the food is good. Not extraordinary, but certainly above... More

Popped in briefly yesterday and it is even more impressive than before. Very modern, contemporary wine tasting facilities as seems to be the trend these days. Magnificent sculptures on the lawns and an informal rustic outdoor café where we sat on benches under umbrellas at wooden tables and enjoyed the best coffee ever. Sadly we had just eaten at Vergelegen... More

Very relaxing meal with all the family and suites to young and old. Lovely outdoor wooden playground and play frame for the children in close proximity to our table. Good food and welcoming service.

Wow, we as family had lunch at the resturant! We had sirloin, pork belly and ribs! BEST food ever... but our waiter... his name was Patrick-he really made our visit perfect! Before we asked for something he attended to our needs with the best smile! He was the one thing that would make us go back again anytime! Thanks Patrick!!

As a wine estate there is the wine tasting and wines at price levels to suit the locals and also the wines for special occasions. However my visits are usually to the coffee shop, where they grind the beans for you to suit whatever system of coffee making you use, and serve the best cappuccino around. I also like the... More

Great experience..this is much more than a wine tasting...fruit farm...trails and craft shops. Wine superb but couldn't quite get to grips with chocolate with it?

You get used to people in this country being really friendly and welcoming so the underwhelming welcome here was a bit strange. We did the wine and chocolate tasting, were given a brief by the staff about what was what and then left to get on with it. Some really interesting taste combinations, as we very much like both ingredients,... More
