We loved tasting wine on the river boat, lovely and cool breezes and a very gentle trip. Good photo opportunities and you can fill a picnic basket at the deli beforehand and bring it along. Its an perfect add on to your visit to the Robertson valley.

Viljoensdrift is a vineyard that provides more than the usual wine tasting. Situated on the bank of the Breede river, it has a deli where visitors can purchase goodies for a riverside picnic, and there are also hour-long boat cruises for people to enjoy their picnics with an ever-changing view. The deli food can end up an expensive way of... More

We decided to try the Viljoensdrift boat trip and what an awesome experience .The trip included a wine tasting and they do have some great wines .We decided to do our own lunch put to gether from their Deli which has all sorts of nice goodies, so when it came for the actual boat trip we had already eaten so... We were a family of 5 adults. We had booked ahead for the 1 hour boat cruise. Before the cruise we had wine tasting took a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and bought food from the deli. The wine and food excellent, very fresh and tasty and good variety. A must experience in Robertson.

Picnic and boat ride are average. What makes this is the people you go with so make sure you go with an awesome bunch of people and make it fun The boat goes up and down the lake. Not much to see and pretty boring really.

We arrived for a late lunch at 15:30 only to be told the kitchen was closed and was prepping for the next day. But everywhere the hours are until 17:00. The deli was still open but a bit of a disappointment.

Nice way to spend an hour or so with the kids. Beautiful scenery. Friendly staff. Trip is short enough so kids won't become bored - but could however be a bit crowded in busy seasons. Sunscreen and insect repellent a must. Picknic baskets (boxes) for the boat is a fun idea but can become pricey if you let the kids... More

Short, but fun trip up the river. Wonderful weather and delicious food. Great wine tasting at the Deli with friendly helpers.

My wife and I visit Viljoensdrift every year with Wacky Wine and will ever skip it. We always have a tasting of their wines and then fill our baskets for the barge cruize which is a must do in the Robertson valley. I love the basket idea with wine on the river. My type of thing and sure many others... More
