Wine tasting in style

Attentive wine tasting experience in a beautiful setting. Nice whites and reds on offer. They also have a museum and farm shop.

This is a really classy wine tasting experience set in a very well decorated and up market cellar. R50 for 7 wines with some very fresh bread (the charge is refunded if you buy 2 bottles). Very well worth the visit, the setting is amazing and the wine is very good, in particular the Shiraz Vigonier.

This is beautiful setting and a fine wine estate in Franschoek. We visited for Sunday Lunch (rebooked and reserved paid deposit on line) . The restaurant has the kitchen visible as you enter. The wines are renown and you can choose from Billionaire prices down to ordinary South African . The Sunday meal is a set three course meal. The... More

We were in Franschhoek for one full day and unfortunately, it was hurricane weather outside. We were delighted with LaMotte because they had a beautiful indoor area where we could walk around their cellar and once we sat down for our tasting, we were near a lovely fireplace. The ambiance was cozy, our server nice and informative, and the wine... More

From the security guard to the receptionist to the wine ambassadors, ever aspect of this estate is EXCELLENT. We so appreciated the kind service, the complimentary snacks and their generous tasting policy. While we enjoyed the wine, it was an experience to visit the museum housing original Irma Stern to works by Pierneef. Do not miss this.

We visited La Motte on the way back from Franschhoek and I was very impressed. The food was presented well, was flavoursome and was not a million miles away from Michelin standard, I really could not fault it,

The gentleman doing our wine tasting was the only nice person there. It took a moment to even be greeted when we walked in. Then after the wine tasting we wanted to stop in the shop. As tiny as the shop was, not only were we not greeted, but my boyfriend asked the lady behind the register for the price... More

Definitely worth a visit if you like wine. One of the best wine growers in the area with great wine tasting on their Estate.

We arrived in Franschoek a little late but that didn't stop us from going wine tasting at La Motte, we each had 2 types of wines, we got a whole deep briefing of the wines & staff was extremely friendly, unfortunately we didn't manage to have lunch at their restaurant as it was fully booked so I would advise when...
