We chose this winery because of the great reviews of vineyard and especially their highly rated wines. It is indeed quite charming though we didn't feel the wines were worth the hype and we didn't think our server seemed very knowledgeable

A few of us dropped in for a wine tasting. The venue is rustic but attractive. However, there is limited seating inside. For R60 one can taste three wines from the non reserve list and two from the reserve. The lady who attended to us was not all that professional. Some of the wines were very good but I thought... I loved Chamonix and Denise (I hope that's her name). Sure, it's not Tokara, Delaire or Ernie Ells, but they had delicious wine and above average service. Denise was my favorite part. As much as I love the atmosphere at the fanciest places, Chamonix was more quaint and I felt like it was more real (less for show).

This was the second stop on the red route and compared to the first it was very disappointing. You have to use the same glass for all the wine tastings - very unprofessional. The entire experience was very unprofessional and I would no recommend to anyone else. Also quite cramped and not enough space.

We visited this wine tasting on the Red Tram which was the 2nd tasting. There was very limited seating in side and the staff was really not very helpful. We had one wine glass that we had to keep for the full wine tasting - never getting a clean glass. No options of any food to pair with the wine.... More

Small tasting room, even in the winter it was crowded. We had heard great things about the wine so we were looking forward to the tasting, but we would not return. The staff just directed us to find a place to sit and then brought wine and poured it into our glasses. They did show us the label so at... More

Small tasting room. Very rustic. Have to pay for tasting even if buying unless spend R1000. Lady did not give impression was professional or knew wines. Unwilling to spend time with individual guests. Wanted us to taste what she wanted us to taste. Think whole room had the same. Much better options in Franschoek frankly.

We had a good experience at Chamonix. Nice wines and knowledgeable staff. Beautiful place. Great grappa! Negative point is that, different from other wineries, even if you buy wines, they still charge for the wine tasting.

I'm surprised to read the poor reviews of this cute little winery as we had a very good experience at the Chamonix. The staff was knowledgeable and the wine was very nice. We enjoyed our visit.

At 60 rand per flight, it is totally not worth it. I would not even have any of them as table wine 😬 The lack of interest in the staff is so obvious. I went on the wine tasting route with intention to buy. Felt it was a waste of my time.
