Lovely gallery with a good mix of art to select from, including various artists. The couple that run it are fabulous and friendly! Not pushy. Bought myself a metal water buffalo made from recycled metals and a elephant for a friend.

What a lovely, lovely gallery. Such a variety, and beautifully displayed. We purchased an exquisite ebony carving of women with heads wrapped in material; an Ostrich egg boldly yet intricately painted; and a metal wildebeest rendered in amazing detail. Everything was wrapped securely. We also met the owners who were delightful. If you're in franschhoek for a wine tasting (we visited La Bourgoine and La Motte), be sure to visit this charming place (directly across the road from the church).

This is the original art shop in Franschhoek. It is much bigger than it looks from the outside. We've bought a number of pictures here over the last 15 years or so - particularly by Rosita Manser who has a lovely style and captures the local scenery very well. No pressure from sales people which is refreshing!

Having purchased a small stone animal carving from this shop, on our visit in 2015, we were happy to find and buy to 2 similar items as mementos of this year's holiday in Western Cape

We were happy to wander into the Art House while enjoying a lazy stroll through Franschhoek. It's rare that we enter a gallery where we find so much of the work appealing! We ended up sending several pieces home, one of them a collage by co-owner, Rosita. Wonderful stop in Franschhoek!

Nice selection of artwork by local artists, all pleasantly displayed, and reasonably priced. Some landscape paintings were quite beautiful. Friendly staff. Not to be missed.

Rosita and Derek show the work of local and Cape artists who are actively painting now. Easy to park outside and open at the weekends. I have some of my landscapes here so am biased. Elinor Carleton-Smith

With so much folk art and carvings on the streets it is a relief to find place where the pieces are selected and reasonably priced. Derrek and Rosita know the artists and can provide the background of most pieces. The gallery is a delightful old house on the main street. And they pack and ship as well. We've been here twice and found wonderful treasures each time.

Besides having a great selection of art, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. They arranged to have two paintings I bought from them shipped to the USA for me and it was a painless experience.
