It only costs a handful of Rands to visit this beautiful piece of history but apart from the monument itself there's not much else. The museum is tiny, but very interesting, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. Very peaceful and relaxing

A well designed monument in pleasant ,relaxing gardens. The water feature is good & the building well maintained as are the gardens.

Nice place to visit, very peaceful, should be linked with a visit to the museum next door to get the full benefit. I cannot understand why they are charged separately when they are both about the same subject

This is a very nice garden setting. Worth your time to stop here and take a stroll. It's very easy to find on the edge of town.

I did not go into the museum, it went to the little local museum over the road, then we had breakfast at the cafe here under the trees, we thought the staff here we so nice and loved the young man who served us, everything...More

A well-constructed explanation of how/when/why it all happened. Many interesting documents on display,

We we were here early in the morning. It was quiet and serene. The Memorial is big with lots of well kept gardens and beautiful roses. A good start to visit the whole town of Franschhoek.

Worth a stop, for historical reasons. I have no doubt the year of drought has made the gardens more of a battle to maintain. Don't forget to walk through the more wild section behind the lunch tree.

This monument is overlooking the town almost in a protective way. Majestic with a deep sense of pride. I suggest you go to the museum first to get the historical background to the area.
