Arrived in heavy rains. Had to hunt for a dry parking. Main restaurant closed due to not patrons. It seemed that we ate in the kitchen. Only 4 tables. Food was very good and service average. Staff need training. Wine very average. Will give it 6 out of 10 as food was very good. Don't think will go back.

We were shown around the fascinating museum by someone who works on the farm. The history of the farm and the presence of slaves in the 19th century on this farm are documented with very interesting panels. The present owner providing diverse benefits for the employees including music and good educations.

I know the brand but had not tasted too many of their wines. We opted for the wider tasting of all 10 wines. Good value option but also very interesting. From dry to sweet, red and white, to the pear cider - you will find something you like. My favourite: Jazz Shiraz! Lots of people were ordering the picnic baskets... More

We ordered picnic baskets and blankets prior to our arrival at the vineyard and, after a little bit of confusion because they have moved things about recently and the signboards weren't yet changed, we found where we needed to pick everything up, gathered our food, wines, blankets and caught the tractor trailer to the picnic area. There are some lovely... More

I thoroughly recommend a visit to this wine estate as not only can you taste delicious wines you can visit the museum which displays items found in an archeological dig on the site showing it was inhabited by Stone Age/Iron Age tribes. Also relics from more recent times when it was run as a fruit farm. Very interesting. Do talk... More

This is a beautiful spot, just outside Fransschoek. You can sit sipping some of their excellent wine looking out over the garden, or bring a picnic of your own. But as well as these attractions you can visit the most amazing museum which charts the story of the farm right back to pre-historic times. The geology, archaeology and social history... More

This remarkable wine farm that offers much more than just wine. It is an experience! A museum welcomes one with empowered staff manning the post. A glass floor reveals historic excavations and artefacts and information boards guide one further. The wine farm is progressive and historic and different. With a visionary neuro-scientist at the helm, one cannot expect less. Strangulation... More

I totally recommend this wine tour, especially if you want to know the process of making wine instead of only tasting a myriad of different bottles of wine. Our tour guide was pleasant and very knowledgeable and could answer any question. We loved walking in the vineyards. Very worthwhile experience.

Went back to share the history with some friends but was very sad to hear the interesting platters was no longer part of the wine tasting options. Sorry to say that the whole feeling was gone as previously the grass and moat tables were filled with happy people tasting wine and enjoying the garden. Now you gave to go to... More
