What a museum! I honestly did not expect this at all when we were driving to Stellenbosch from Franschhoek and we saw the sign. 80 perfectly maintained cars, literally a time machine to all the times these cars came from. They are so well preserved it is amazing. We really enjoyed it. The gift shop also had plenty of amazing wines and olive oil for sale, which were excellent when we got home to enjoy them. The price is very reasonable for such an attraction, but I know they restrict the number of visitors and there is armed security, all of which is understandable because the thought of this paradise being ruined is unbearable. If you visit on a weekday in July you probably would not need to do a reservation, as did we. We just turned up and all they asked for was some ID to prove we weren't dubious or anything. I highly recommend this attraction and it is a wonderful place to be.

The Fraschhoek Motor Museum is a real hidden treasure in the vineyards at L’Ormarins farm (adults 80 Rand, pensioners and auto club members with card 60 Rand, Children 40 Rand. Open 10 am to 5 pm). It fills four airplane hanger sized former stable buildings. This extraordinary collection of hundreds of cars, dating from the late 19th century to the present, in seemingly mint/running condition, is just awesome. It easily blows away, in both size and variety, every auto museum I have ever visited (including the large one Prince Rainier of Monaco presents). If you like cars, be they antique, Formula 1, quirky or simply a row of red Ferrari’s from across the years, this is the place for you.

This is a private collection situated in a beautiful setting, comprising vehicles clearly of importance and interest to the owner.
Four buildings in a garden area house the exhibits which are labelled with brief but relevant information. They are all beautifully presented and clearly cherished with obvious examples of 'luxury' marques together with lesser known manufacturers which have their own interesting story.
Well worth a visit and makes a great diversion from the Wine tours for which this area is famous.

The museum is a real gem in a beautiful setting. There is a wide range of vehicles from the early 1900s, all in mint condition and well displayed. We were lucky enough to be the only people in the museum at the time which felt very special. The staff were all extremely pleasant. Not to be missed.

A fantastic collection of cars dating back to the early 1900s. It's great for families to spend a couple of hours taking in the great history of the automobile. One of the major attractions to catch is the rare Enzo Ferrari.

The amaaaaazzzing handiworks that went into making these cars, are just astonishing. And the way its kept in their original conditions are just mind blowing. We were privilidged to see the 2nd of only 3 Astin Martins that were built in its range. From the drive from the gate, we felt one with nature. We enjoyed it all 🌸🌿

The museum is situated in the picturesque valley of Franschhoek and part of the famous Rupert family's heritage cum legacy. This is the best vehicle exhibition in South Africa not favouring a particular make. At the site is also a restaurant worth visiting.

We visited on a rainy day and it was so nice to walk around and see such history. The cars are all unique and well maintained and there are great descriptions of each vehicle. Some are so rare! I love that the history is preserved. The museum is on a beautiful estate and everyone is very welcoming.

I have visited many car museums in Europe, but I must say that Franschhoek Motor Museum is by far the most impressive. The collection covers everything from the very early cars ever produced to the very rare luxury cars. Absolutely worth visiting even if you are not a huge car fan. Very impressive collection.

Classic sport cars and classic cars on display, hundreds of them. Car heaven, surely one of the biggest collections in the world, about all Ferrari’s, Porches, Alfas, Mercedes Benzes, and other makes of cars throughout the history of cars are there. Apparently not always the same cars as they do maintenance on all cars and therefor withdraw them at some stage for a period of time.
