Schotia offers one of the best chances to see lions in the wild. This private malaria free reserve close to the Addo Elephant National Park is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year.

The safari with Schotia was a fantastic highlight from our trip to SA and a great end to our drive along the Garden Route. The reserve is just over an hour from Port Elizabeth so it’s easy to get to and it’s big enough to get a real sense of Africa’s stunning wildlife and rugged terrain. There could be more... More

Did this after a full morning in Addo It actually complements Addo very well as it focuses on all the other animals you'd expect to see on a safari. Only downside was the number of jeeps out at the same time which made it feel a bit processed. You'd find some rhino and then all of a sudden you've got... More

Our hotel/lodge recommended Schotia tour. It wasn't cheap but it delivered. Mervyn was our guide and he was excellent. Our bus was quiet and not many people asked questions. The day we went was 38c which was hot for the time of year and whilst it was hot it is a lot cooler when On the jeep. The animals were... More

We had an exceptional experience. From start to finish you were made to feel welcome and special. Our guide, Edward, was funny, knowledgeable, experienced and caring. We had a German couple with a very young baby in our group and he ensured baby was safe and happy whilst also keeping us happy. Not an easy task. A truly great and... More

We travelled a long way to look at animals in the wild and we had just one day to do it in. I had been on long safaris before, my husband had never experienced animals in the wild. The Scotia trip to Addo in the morning and Scotia's Private park in the afternoon/evening ensured that we maximised our time and... More

This place is basically an oversized zoo, the only difference between this and a regular zoo is that you are in the cage with the animals. At 1500 rand it is also vastly overpriced and has been increased from 1000 rand this time last year. We decided to go here because of the mostly positive reviews on Trip Advisor but... More

Good knowledgable guide, saw loads of wildlife. Including 2 young wrestling elephants only 3 mars away. Had supper there and another night drive also saw 2 white rhino. On the down side little commercialised but ok.

We had a full day with Trooth and Claw package and were collected at Hotel by Scott, right on time. Scott proved to be an excellent host during the full day, were we visited both Addo and Schotia. We were extremely lucky with what we saw during the day in both parks. Between the parks we had lunch and in... More

The afternoon started with Ranger Robert warming up the group like a warmup band before the star appears on stage. He was sizing us up and as a result, he made this trip on of the most enjoyable tours ever for me. The park is divided into two parts with free range animals, giraffes, several types of antelopes, buffalo, elephants,... More

Great value for money. Even if you are staying in Capetown book a domestic flight to PE. At the end its cheaper than safari's near Capetown, you see more (Animals) and its a nice area/surrounding.
