Schotia offers one of the best chances to see lions in the wild. This private malaria free reserve close to the Addo Elephant National Park is probably the most densely stocked reserve in Africa, and with over 40 mammal species and approximately 2000 animals, can offer consistently good game viewing throughout the year.

Was there on my birthday, and i really had a blast! The guides Edward and Ryan were knowledgable and funny. We saw a lot of animals except the elephant cause it was too cold that day. The dinner was great as well. It definitely complements...More

We have done several safaris in SA, and this is right up on top as far as I am concerned. Admittedly the site is small and not as truly natural as, say Kruger or Addo, but if you want a high concentration of exciting wildlife,...More

This was a short tour with two breaks . The meals provided are sufficient and we love the peanut butter spread served during the short break. One must bring item would be a thick jacket as it got very windy and ending me feeling dizzy...More

What this offers is a “guaranteed” sighting of lions, rhino and buffalo along with giraffe, various antelope in a short period of time. Ideal for those on a tight time frame. The tour definitely caters to the international market with prices that reflecting that. No...More

Reasonable value for money. Our guide, Zane, was very informative. Saw most of the animals you would expect, Lion, elephant, rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra etc. Slightly disturbed that so many are in a relatively small area. The food offered following the drive was very welcome,...More

The schotia safari is everything you want from it. The guides know their business. Everything is wel organized. We did the afternoon drive. A stop with drinks and a braai is included. The braai is organized by the drivers. Food is ok. We saw lions,...More

Schotia is one of my favourite Game Reserves. Peter and Jenny Bean and their team always greet you as long lost family and nothing is too much bother for them to undertake to make your safari memorable. The guides are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and full...More

We had an amazing trip with Scotia at the Tooth and Claw Safari. Our guide Nic was fantastic and managed to get us to a lot of the animals first so we had great opportunities to take photos and observe before the other cars arrived....More

We spent 5 hours driving through Addo ourselves and it was great, but the game drive was perfect to see what we hadn’t seen driving on the „normal“ roads. Schotia takes you off the beaten track in jeeps and even if it is touristy, it...More

It is a nature reserve so there are parts that are more bumpy but not really jolting. But the drivers are very helpful and you can certainly ask them to take this into consideration.
