We had so much fun! The kids loved the sword fight, fighting off another pirate with water cannons, and finding treasure. The pirates did an amazing job interacting with the kids (calling them each by name).
Lots of quick wit and cheesy jokes for the parents.
Warning: you could get wet from a pirate attack.

We took 5 kids (aged 5-9) and they had a blast! They were epeovieed eye patches and hand tattoos. They got to help find a treasure and shoot water cannons at the cracked. Definitely worth the money we paid to entertain the kids for an hour!

What a great experience! During this awful Covid time, our summer vacation plans had to chance. Last minute we decided on North Wildwood. My 4 1/2 year old grandson is obsessed with pirates. Dark Star did a FANTASTIC job, even I believed in pirates by the end of the day. I even got a pirate ring for grandma! Definately worth the money and the time.

I dont believe we will ever be doing this pirate ship ride again. When arriving we had 6 people. One of those people was a baby who isn't a year old yet. We were asked if the baby was included in our party of 6. Then we were informed that we didn't have to pay for the baby. Even though the website says nothing about not paying for a child under a certain age. It is one price for every person. When asking for a refund then being that we didn't have to pay for the baby we were td there is no way that could happen. To which we don't understand bc if we paid but didn't have to pay why can't we get a refund for that.

Also we were told there would be face painting. But there was only tattoos handed out to the kids. Which a pirate went around putting them onto the kids. So I was thinking possibly bc of covid but then why get close to a child to put a tattoo on.

Also there wasn't a pirate on a different ship spraying water at the children. We were told they didn't have anyone to drive that boat for that to happen. So our kids just sprayed the water at the water. We were very disappointed as our kids were really looking forward to this experience. Definitely a let down. And will NOT be returning.

Thanks

Several family members accompanied our 5 yr old grandson on our trip, 7/21/21. Halfway through the pirate experience, a significant thunderstorm arose with lightning, wind and driving rain! Despite the poor conditions, the cruise continued moving forward, with no mention of providing life vests to patrons or returning to the dock. Kids cried and asked to go home. All aboard were soaked to the skin. The management offered no parting words of regret or return vouchers. They were lucky that there was no no health incident on board.Their lack of boating knowledge and safety practices put people at risk. For these reasons, I do not recommend supporting the Dark Star Pirate Cruises.

My family recently did the pirate cruise and it was very enjoyable and entertaining. My 3 year old is really into pirates right now and loved it. Kids get a tattoo and an eye patch, and after we found the treasure he got to keep some! Had fun shooting the water cannons at the pirate (you might get wet too). Definitely recommend.

Took my grandsons on a Sunday morning; there were only 2 other groups on the ship. The crew were engaging with the kids. They learned pirate languages, shot water canons, and did the limbo. It was lightly raining when we left. As long as there are no storms, they go. It lasted a little less than an hour. Free parking is available at the dock.

This was so much fun for the whole family. Interactive, fun story telling and patient pirates. Worth the price in my opinion. Bring sunscreen and a hat on hot days, some seats are in the sun. A great adventure for our Wildwood vacation!

We bought this as a living social deal. Tips first:

Bring your kids a change of clothes in case they get wet.
Get there early to find parking on the street.
Get there early to get the kids faces painted and get yourself situated.
Bring cash to tip the pirates.

Our children really enjoyed this little trip around the bay in Wildwoodcrest. They got their faces painted and went on the trip. The ticket price includes an eye patch and cup on a string, with a complimentary cup of rootbear and some "treasure" once they find it.

The actors to a great job of entertaining the kids and telling a bit of local history in the process. Their are water cannons which turn on for the kids to squirt another boat that comes out for the adventure. The trip lasts about 1 hour start to finish.
