- Nick S1 contributionLove the WildwoodsThe best boardwalk in NJ for families. Plenty of parking for a fee which is a good thing otherwise you’d have trouble makers. So much action from one end to the other and always upgrading. No place like the Wildwoods !Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten February 18, 2024
- Doris PPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania103 contributionsBeach town with loads of amusement rides to keep kids entertainedWildwood is very diverse, the north end of the boardwalk is quieter with less walking distance from the boardwalk to the ocean, whereas the center of the town is for those families that want to spend their days on the beach and their nights entertaining young children on amusement rides and games. Wildwood Crest offers some resort beaches for those that don't walk a few blocks, plus the longer distance from the boardwalk to the sand. This is one of the most diverse towns along the Southern Jersey Shore.Visited July 2023Traveled with familyWritten May 30, 2024
- Rajagopal SEdison, New Jersey3,352 contributionsGood boardwalk but expensiveA must visit spot when going to wildwood or cape May . Board walk is fun. And it’s a very long boardwalk. So many shops and eateries around . There are also adventure zones and water parks in this boardwalk . The only issue is - it’s insanely expensive . Very very costly to go to rides and most of the food stalls. There were some stores which had some nominal stuff . Kids had fun though . Nice time and good memories .. parking is a nightmare and expensive too. Better to park off in your hotel (if you have one) or park it in side streets with ParkMobile app.Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 30, 2024
- John HHuntingdon, Pennsylvania75 contributionsA legendary boardwalkThe nearly 3 mile long boardwalk is a beauty to behold. The continued boardwalk replenishment is well worth the effort. The piers are a wonderland of rides and the variety of shops and restaurants can appease all tastes.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 11, 2024
- RafaelFort Lee, New Jersey164 contributionsA boardwalk that does not changeThrough the last 20+ years that I have been coming here, I don't think the boardwalk has changed very much. There are many stores, food places, and roller-coaster here, which makes for a great night to multiple nights. You can get to the boardwalk from Wildwood Crest or North Wildwood by walking on a pathway that leads right to the boardwalk. There are also tram cars that go from one end of the boardwalk to the other. It costs 5 dollars but is worth it. The boardwalk is good for people of all ages and if you have a day or two in Wildwood, I would recommend you check it out!Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 18, 2024
- FoodieByChoiceLos Cabos, Mexico234 contributionsFun, sun, good timesBuy the Tram Ticket for $13 for the day. WELL WORTH IT there is over 3 miles of boardwalk currently and you can hop on and off all day until 5 pm. It looks like a carnival, but don't let it fool you, the Boardwalk is full of really good restaurants and bars as well. Fireworks on Fridays. Lots of free concerts around town. Parking is a commodity and expensive. I suggest John at Island Taxi. 6 0 9 9 7 2 1 1 5 2 His prices are better than uber and he give excellent, personal service, we used him for everything transport around town plus up to Atlantic City. Make sure to stop at Douglass Fudge. Over 100 years in business. Take the DooWop Tour and go to the museum. Lots of info on the orginal WIldwood. 85 minute private tour with guide. And it goes to the museum. Did you know. . . Dick Clark's American Band Stand first broadcast off Wildwood? And so much more. All the history can be found in the museum. Tons of rides including the HUGE ferris wheel. Adult & kids love Wildwood. Historical area + some of the best beach in NJ.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 26, 2024
- Ashley WPemberville, Ohio103 contributionsIt's more than you thinkIt's huge! If you have small children bring a wagon or stroller. So many places to eat. If you start at the far end, the attractions start about mid-way through. Water park, amusement park, mini golf, aquarium and tons of food. Make sure to ride the tram car because the little kids love it.Visited August 2024Traveled with familyWritten August 28, 2024

I have been going down to Wildwood since I was a kid. We always stay in the Crest. Over the past 20 years the Crest , North Wildwood and Angelsea remained nice. Alot of the Doowoop style motels and hotels were torndown over the years which really is ashame . Some that are still remaining are well taking care of while others appeared to be tired and in need of renovations. However within the 20 to 25yrs. I really do notice a change especially in the Wildwood sect. Parts of Wildwood appeared to be desolate and run down. The boardwalk area while bustling is attracting a more rougher crowd these days then in the past. The rides are well maintained but the boardwalk can use some refreshing up and rebranding. The Municipality of Wildwood should have a meeting with the planning board to try and come up with a solution and fresh ideas to try and ressurect Wildwood to its former glory. For the money people spend to come down and stay here the municipalties really need to start stepping it up. Otherwise the place will unfortunately get overrun by trash and become a free for all.

Depending on the time of day is a big contributor when writing a review. If you go before 6pm the crowd is tolerable. After that, it is extremely busy and not worth it. The lines are so long and the cost for rides is atrocious. You can go to a legit theme park for an entire day for less than what you would spend here.
It is high prices for low quality. You can tell workers at certain stands don’t want to work because they are ignorant and too busy on their phones.
The one pizza stand charged us $8 for one slice and a soda where the sign says the daily special is $4.99 for 2 slices and a soda. You would think they would have the decency to say “if you buy 2 slices it’s the special” but no.
The games and prizes are junk and a waste of money.

We stayed in Wildwood and after visiting ocean city and cape may; wished we stayed in ocean city. The boardwalk for wildwood is just shop after shop of the exact same souvenirs, clothing and food - fair food. So many ice cream shops, pizza places and fried food galore. It’s like your county fair on the beach. Could be cleaner and wished there was more variety. The crowd was lower end in general, the employees and people in general were not big on wearing masks in comparison to other areas. The tram was nice that they have it but very expensive and sucks that you can’t just hop on and off at night, only during day.

I’ve been going here since I was a child and I’m 37 now taking my young son and the place is horrible to be at. I feel terrible saying no to everything because of how high the prices are for EVERYTHING. I expect to pay more for some experiences but 40 dollars for us to ride 1 roller coaster is a joke.
No crane games even coming close to trying to pick up anything resulting in thousands of dollars being thrown away daily.
5 dollars for a water gun game where my son vs adults is horrible.
We went and did rides and they stop doing the bracelets during the week and it’s was 100 dollars for 75 tickets that didn’t get is very far.
I think finally after all these years it’s time to stop going since it’s a huge waste of money vs any place else. We went to Dorney park and it was 40 for each of us ….and that’s a water park and dry ride park ….that one roller coaster at wildwood is 40 for 2 people. That makes me wanna vomit

Not smart decision to go on the boardwalk. Definitely was overcrowded and social distancing was difficult and the heat was tough for mask but alot of people were listening. We just wanted to get fudge and johnson popcorn and did a 360 and got out of there. Folks listen it's just going to get worse. Where your masks!

I loved wildwood and all the others as well ( ocean city, Atlantic City and seaside heights) seaside you have to pay to get on beach or stay at hotel that offered as package.
Wildwood beach is beautiful and lots of shopping and nice board walk. I would love to go back!!

Worth the stop - even in early spring. Most of the businesses are still closed, but many are starting to open, with plenty of food establishments available. The boardwalk is long and stretches from North Wildwood into Wildwood Crest. Still not too busy, so this is a great time to visit, enjoy a walk in the sun on the boardwalk, and still social distance. The tram car is not running yet, so the only obstacles to worry about are bicyclists. Looking forward to visiting in May when the spring Boardwalk Classic car show is in town, which I visited several times in the past.

Monster Trucks $13 pp for a 6 minute ride was so much fun for the kids and adults. The pier rides are over priced but the kids still had a great time. We had Kohrs and did some shopping and games. Easy parking $15 for the day because the weather was not great but I could imagine on a peak summer day that could be difficult.

Some reviews say Wildwood is going downhill. From someone who visited it regularly while I lived in New Jersey, I can state the reverse. During the 70s and 80s, the area had a poor reputation. Today, it is poised for families instead of gangs of teenagers.
This is regardless of the T-Shirt shops and other shlock areas. They exist everywhere. You can even find them in Estes Park, CO. It certainly didn't stop the stores from being crowded during a pandemic weekend.
What makes this area wonderful is the beach. It's so wide that you can stay six feet apart without an issue and still be close to the water. And that's cool to your feet when the rest of the area is warm and humid.

Wildwood used to be a great place to go. I’ve been going for years .Labor day weekend was my final straw. The boardwalk ,people just don’t care, trash everywhere, people smoking both cigarettes and blunts and so thick ,you need a fan to keep the smoke from your children, even waiting in line to go on rides will get you “ high”. Oh and I shouldn’t forget the language, if you go , bring earplugs.

Are all the stores and restaurants really closed on Sundays during the summer?
Written April 4, 2022
What are the days and hours of the stores and restaurants on the boardwalk?
Written April 4, 2022
I am not sure, now that Covid restrictions are being lifted, I would assume anytime, or possibly, they would start in the early may timeframe when it gets warmer. Its best to call them directly or check the website.

Is there anywhere to park on the beach? (drive onto the beach) I am getting a few friends together for a mini prom/photoshoot and we wanted to decorate our truck.

Sorry, did not see any and I traveled down thru Cape May.
Beaches in Wildwood are way away from the boardwalk and not really pretty sand like you might want.

Can I get a rental, for a handicap scooter on the Boardwalk @Wildwoopd NJ?
Written September 8, 2019

Is the boardwalk dog friendly (dogs allowed)? I have a 15 year old westie (loves people) that I do not leave at home.
Written August 23, 2019
Wildwood has the best dog park on the beach in all of New Jersey. Many activities for both small and large dogs. But dogs may not be on the people part of the beach. You will need to check with the hotels to determine what their policy is regarding pets. Each one varies. Sometimes the boardwalk is crowded and you will want to avoid those times for your doggie. Sunny afternoons and warm summer evenings bring out the biggest crowds to the Boardwalk..
