Farmers come in to the Trenton Farmers Market from around the state. It is most lively and happening on Saturday where you can choose from a range of prepared food stalls, delis, Amish stands, and fresh produce stands. There are also often craft vendors. I try to go weekly. At the prime of summer, there are massive Jersey tomatoes with deep flavor, squash, broccoli, potatoes, onions, lettuces, Jersey peaches, plums, and many other specialty produce finds. If they sell produce from out of state it is labeled with place of origin. The Amish and Polish vendors specialize in meats, baked goods, and other canned goods. We try to get Hambone Opera's BBQ'd brisket any chance we get. There are many vegetarian and vegan delights, as well. I've spent a lot of time at Savory Leaf. Tea for All brings back tea from around the world and always has a specialty drink. If you are looking for bargains, you can often get seconds at a reduced price and bushels of tomatoes in August to make sauce. There are Christmas and fall harvest markets to boot. There are many other things to see taste and do and its an underestimated highlight of the Trenton/Lawrence area.

I have been shopping at the Trenton Farmers Market for over 30 years and I have just recently gone through some dramatic health changes that have improved my health and well-being and they are all due to shopping at the market. All my meats are purchased at Cartalidges, local farm raised meats and poultry that are well worth the extra $ over grocery store specials, Seafood from Carl’s is wild caught fresh whatever is available that week, he buys and sells what he gets each week, vegetables of course throughout the season are available in plenty through several markets, my favorites are Pineland farms and Russo’s. Buy local and fresh and bring your health back to where it was meant to be. Your body knows how to process real food as it comes from the ground!

First time Visit to Trenton Farmers Market and my friend and I enjoyed the market. We arrived around 4pm and it is seemed that most of the vendors had already packed up. We did do some shopping and enjoyed ourselves.

This a fantastic opportunity to buy locally grown and produced Jersey fresh!!! Veggies, deli, Polish and fantastic Amish meat. Weekend is time for a few to sell their wares, beautiful handcrafted jewlry and Terhunes orchard. The three stars is only because the bathroom is in a separate building and you have to ask for a key like you’re in kindergarten.

Spent a wonderful few hours speaking with the vendors and perusing their wares. My first encounter was with Jenn Wagner of Amaryllis Craftworks. I purchased two of her lovely scented-candles: Moonlake Musk and Sea Salt & Orchid. Then, I browse through tons of used books, all in excellent condition and many hardcovered. I purchased 8 wonderful cookbooks, 4 of which are Williams Sonoma and have awesome graphics. Next, I chatted with Paul Kraska about his antiques and collectibles. I purchased two small owls, one ceramic and one bronze. Finally, I stopped by Danny's booth to admire the lovely purses and totes. Apparently, his daughter is the designer behind Violet Ray NY. I purchased two handbags. Turns out Danny is a fellow Brooklynite! Even stopped in Halo Farm to purchase some items before heading out. Trenton Farmers Market is a fun way to spend a few hours!

We are from north Jersey so for us it's Taylor ham, for the rest of Jersey it's pork roll, and for the rest of the country your all missing out and I feel sorry for you. We have to get some homemade Taylor ham whenever we stop here, and some amazing produce. Also picked up some amazing country head cheese. Love this market, want to buy everything.

As a life long New Jersey resident, I am spoiled by the abundance of produce available throughout the State. Even in areas not as close to the farmlands, there are farmers markets that sell all manner of produce year round. The Trenton a Farmers a Market is a great example of this.
Most recently, on an unseasonably warm November day, I picked up fresh cabbage, tomatoes and peppers for a lamb dish I was preparing. The vendors, as always, were very friendly and helpful----and the price is always right! I also stopped at the Amish Store and picked a unique (and quite delicious) peach oatmeal cake. I was even able to have a couple of watch batteries replaced at the Watch Doctor; he is my go to person for all of my watch and clock maintenance needs.
There is ample parking and a great place to walk around and check out what vendors have for sale.

Fresh mushrooms, fish & figs, plus what you'd expect
I go to the Trenton Farmers Market at least weekly, year-round. I buy the freshest produce, fish & meats, picked that day, caught that day or butchered that day, from vendors I'm on a first-name basis with. Just can't beat it. In winter, I'm buying root vegetables, apples, oysters for winter stews. I rely on those who offer an array of home-made raviolis or pierogis, not to.mention desserts. I can get freshly-roasted coffee and all sorts of teas, eastern European meats & breads, or Italian breads & pastries, in addition to the best Amish roast chicken and a choice between two barbecued ribs vendors.
Visit early & often!

You can’t go wrong visiting the farmers market and buying terrific, outstanding produce. It is highly recommended and extremely cost-efficient to buy your produce here, support local farmers, and save a lot of money.

I have limited mobility. Are there places to sit
Written August 10, 2017
Yes, near the Amish Market are tables & chairs. I walk with a cane, and I need to sit periodically. Give it a go!

I am sorry to say I don't think there is much room or places to sit, its more of a walk thru area going from one stand to another
