This is a really nice place to walk. Various paths to walk on - a very wide one mile walk to the waterway. Busy on weekends, quieter during the week. The nature center was interesting - educational with friendly people working there. I will be back many times 🌞🌾🌻

This place has a little but for everyone. The visitor center has air conditioning and many tanks with live animals. Lots of information to be learned about the jersey coast. There is a small butterfly garden, with real wild butterflies! Hiking trails that’s hard packed good for maintain bikes and sandy trails. We spent about 2 hours there. That includes a walk out to the furthest point and back. It’s a great spot for an drizzle or overcast kinda day.

What a beautiful park. They have trails to walk with gorgeous views of the bay. Be sure to stop by the Cooper Environmental Center. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. We had questions about some plants we saw and the naturalist who helped us was able to tell us exactly what we had seen. Wonderful displays in there as well including : fish, snakes, turtles, frogs and plenty of hands-on games and activities for the kids. Best of all... everything is FREE. They will even loan you a bike, a nature backpack and a fishing net for free. Definitely worth a visit for any age. They told me that they are open all year. The Cooper Environmental Center is open from 8 to 4:30 and the park is open from dawn to dusk - seven-days-a-week. Oh, I almost forgot the beautiful Butterfly Garden.

This is a nice place but don't bring your dog, it is full of ticks and we had to come home and throw all our clothes in the dryer and leave dog outside while we washed him and got rid of ticks.

Nice walk but stay on trails as the ticks are really bad. Free parking, can bike the trails if desired.

Although the center has not yet reopened from Sandy this is a great place for a long walk. We take our dog and she loves when we get to the beach so she can jump in. Lots of beautiful flora and watch for the birds. Very peaceful.

Loved the main trail and the views, with all the intriguing side trails! Plenty of parking. You can bring your doggie, too.

Have come here many times, before and after Hurricane Sandy for walks and photographs. It's our favorite park in Ocean County. Several trails are available. Love to come see the Osprey, heron and egrets. We have seen some wonderful sunsets bayside. The bugs can be bad in the summer, so we enjoy spring and fall walks. I've even taken walks after snowfall and when the bay is frozen. Winter can be a wonderful time for solace there. I've entered and walked the park from both entrances, one from Cattus Island Road and the other from Brandon Road. The renovated Cooper Environmental Center since Sandy is very nice. The butterfly garden is an additional treat. Wear protection against ticks and mosquitos. Good place to take kids to learn about the environment and wildlife. Great place to go for a run if you're a runner.
