The Tenafly Nature Center is a non-profit member-supported nature preserve. Our mission is to protect almost 400 wooded acres, all of its inhabitants and teach the next generations to do the same. Since 1961, TNC has nurtured an appreciation for nature, been a leader in open-space preservation and in environmental education for our community in Tenafly, Bergen County, and beyond. When trails are open we welcome visitors to hike, bird-watch, observe wildlife, cross-country ski, snow-shoe and ice skate on Pfister's Pond.

We went here with our 2.5 year old son. We finished the Yellow trail near Pfister's pond, then half of De Filippi and the Main Trail. My son was able to walk by himself throughout this trail with little help. Please note that strollers are not permitted. The place was little wet and muddy due to the melting snow. So... More

So grateful to have access to the trails at the Tenafly Nature Center to go for a walk, breathe deeply, open my eyes and clearly think through challenges without the distraction of cars, computers, etc. This is a very worthwhile nonprofit organization to support and a beloved space in Tenafly.

Tenafly Nature center has beautiful hiking tracks for everyone. Enterance has a small bridge over the water with ducks and lilies. It is a must see. The Nature Center has ongoing programs for kids as well as adults. I think it is under visited. I am a big fan of their efforts and camps they offer as our kids need... More

Great places. Nice hiking trails, abrook. Lots of places for kids to climb and explore. Have seen turkeys and deer there. Free admission and a small nature center with education info. People who work there are nice and it is free.

Always a great visit, five miles complete walk. Nice pond to walk around. Five miles and more of trails, up and down some small hills. Can connect over to Green Brook Sanctuary or Palisads Park Interstate park system

I took my three kids here on a day when school was closed. My kids are 7, 5, 2. They all had a blast. For starters the area is pristine. It was so clean. I was expecting to see a bit of garbage, but it was spotless. Kudos to the workers there. There was lots of wildlife for the kids... More

We went for a Sunday walk. It has a small place for 2 owls and a hawk to observe. The trail is nice, it hit a sort of pound view spot. Good pictures. The trail itself is cute, they hanged a story about a squirrel on different tree along the walk, so you get the kids excited about the story... More

We are on quest for family (toddler) friendly nature walking, and that led us to Tenafly Nature Center. We did have a good time, but it was not so friendly for our toddler--whom we ended up carrying. The activity center seems nice, but was not open the weekend we went there. We'll need to try again, maybe when he's older.... More
