Located on rt 29 a few miles north of Stockton this riverside park offers water access, hiking, picnicking, a scenic suspension footbridge to PA (and back!) and the Black Bass Inn, lots of parking and an interesting and informative nature center. Also as part of the D and R canal trail, it makes a nice stop along the way from Lambertville to Frenchtown.

Our main reason for visiting was to walk the footbridge. The park itself is at the intersection of route 29 and Quarry road. When you get there you will see the sign for Bulls island park. Pull in past the first parking area and drive across the small bridge. Park in the second parking area. The footbridge is directly ahead of you. The walk across from New Jersey to Pennsylvania is very pleasant. The views of the river are nice but I found the bridge itself to be most interesting. On the Pennsylvania side are the inn and some other architecturally interesting buildings worth checking out. Back on route 29 just north of the park there is a house with a huge rocky outcropping above it. Pretty neat!

Bull Island will forever be special to us but it has everything a family could want in a park...boat ramp, hiking, bathrooms, playground, views...

Crossing from NJ to PA on foot across a pedestrian bridge is kind of cool. Beyond that, there is not much to do. If you are in the area and you want to experience that I think you should....go and enjoy. Yet in my opinion, this attraction is not worthy of a lengthy travel. Like many parks, getting your gps or navigation to accept an address can be tricky. It is not far from a Texaco Gas Station on 14 Bridge Street in Stockton. The pedestrian bridge is set back from the road...so put in 2185 Daniel Bray Highway and then when you are getting close, look for the sign that says: "Bull's Island Recreation Area". Park your vehicle and walk in the direction that leads away from the road...cross over a "mini bridge" and then just ahead you'll see the much grander bridge that you can walk on to cross the Delaware River.....NJ to PA :)

Just north of Stockton, NJ, Bull’s Island is a small but wonderful state park. It has plenty of free parking, a boat ramp and a really cool pedestrian bridge to Lumberville, PA.

We often visit Bull's Island after visiting restaurants on the Pennsylvania side of the river. It's a great place to walk off a big lunch or breakfast. A foot bridge crosses the river for a pleasant, undisturbed stroll from Pennsylvania and cars can access the island from the New Jersey side. The island has a number of trails, a boat launch, picnic areas, and plenty of direct access to the river. (The water can be swift so be very careful if you let your pet swim.)

This place is awesome and so much fun to camp out at! Complete with flush toilets and showers/sinks you can experience camping without the grimy-ness and without squatting! Every lot includes a picnic table and a fire pit, and you can hike and rent kayaks as well. A lot of fun.

Stopped here while on a road trip. This is a very nice park. Looks like a great place to camp. We saw people fishing and walked across the big bridge. There is a nice playground for kids.
