    Portal into real America
This is a portal to the beloved America of yore. This place is pure fun without any pretentiousness. We had the most laid back and joyful experience. The staff were all genuinely cordial and friendly. It seemed like they were actually living out the roles. It was a relief to be able to experience the grit and resilience that made this country great without being self conscious about feeling patriotic as we do in many places today.

Best time for a unique experience!!
Boys aged 6 and 8 absolutely loved the experience. Participating in catching the “bad guys” was thrilling. They can’t wait to go back!! The displays are authentic and interesting for adults and the animals were a great touch. Highly recommend!

Always a fun time for everyone!
This is our 4th time here. First was back 40 years ago and the Mrs. and I had a blast. Second was 10 years later with our kids. They loved it! Third was 2 years ago with the grand kids now our 4th time with the same grand kids. They begged us to go back! This is a great place to spend a day! A lot of kid participation that the kids enjoy. Some slapstick, some serious skits, all just a lot of fun. Al the actors work hard and be sure and applaud when they are done. Go with the right attitude and you will have a blast. We bring in enough food and drinks to feed an army, take over a picnic table and go back and forth between skits.

    Father’s Day
My family and I enjoyed making memories WWC on Father’s Day. It would be great if the website posted questions & answers travel tip (ex.: if food, beverage, cooler allowed to brought inside park).

    Great place for all ages!
Came here on a Friday and got there when the park opened. There were only about 10 people there visiting throughout the entire day which is nice since you feel like you have the park to yourself and you get a more intimate performance during the shows. We were able to take pictures in all the little saloons and shops. The staff from the actors to the servers and bartenders were all very nice and accommodating. The bartender was friendly and gave us a history of the place as it has been around since the 50's. He recommended that we come back on the weekends as they have more things going on. They also do a haunted tour during the fall. Be sure to check to event calendar on the website. The food and drink prices were great too, considering it's a theme park. Really delicious food which was very surprising. I will definitely be back on a weekend since some of the shops I wanted to check out were closed and are only open on weekends. A great place for all ages to enjoy.

Great for Kids and Nostalgic Adults
Wild West City is a theme park that opened in 1957 and hasn't changed much since. It's dated in its concept and in the condition of its facilities, but if you're nostalgic for a time when America celebrated the Old West, kids played Cowboys & Indians, people loved Westerns on TV and in the movies, you'll love it. My kids were enchanted by all the old stores and saloons, even though they are kids of the 2020s and thus knew very little about the Old West and its legends. Wild West City's entry ticket isn't inclusive -- you have to pay a separate fee for things like the stagecoach and the train. You are probably going to spend a decent amount of money here, although the parking is free at least and the restaurant's prices and the gift shop's prices are reasonable. PS If you go, have your kids wear Western costumes. They'll enjoy WWC even more if they have a cowboy hat or bandana.

Our visit to the Haunted Wild West Fest exceeded expectations with our 10 year old. We had never been to Wild West City and it was a really neat to see the town (various shops/businesses) spooked up at night with a working blacksmith and tarot card reader! The best was the train ride where people were jumping out and scaring you (even more fun than a haunted hay ride). We would definitely go again! The only reason I didn't give it Excellent is that I thought they could have done a better job with sanitizer - ensuring people used when they entered the establishment and having sanitizer for the train ride.

Once you walk through the doors you already feel like you’re in the midwest. I loved the originality and the personality of the place. The jail, the bank, saloon, general store, barbershop, one room school building, the church, etc.. they all take you back in time. Felt like a movie. The acting by the staff was top notch. They did an amazing job interacting with and entertaining the kiddos (adults too!)

Triple A got me a nice discount on our tickets.

Two things keep me from a five star rating
Firstly my visit was on an incredibly HOT day. While I did purchase a pony ride for my son on the website prior to entry, what I saw I didn’t expect. The pony’s appeared worn and old. Two were very thin (probably because of age) and there were kids possibly over 95lbs riding them. Very upsetting to see 👎
Secondly the speakers telling the stories could use some updating. They’re very hard to hear and a lot of the storyline gets missed.

Had I seen younger, healthier, ponies with someone using a lead or on upgraded equipment I would’ve awarded Wild West City a 5/5.

I have been interested in visiting and had the opportunity to one of their last weekends in October (though not for their Halloween fest). I don't consider myself a "Wild West" fan but like old fashioned tourist sites from yesteryear. It did not disappoint! It definitely holds old school charm. The main street is designed so it really looks like you are in the old west. Shows are ongoing throughout the day. What really impressed me was inside all of the buildings, they were filled with artifacts and historical information. The post office had information about the pony express, bank held tons of currency from around the world, newspaper shop has a print press. Some of the buildings housed old housewares and farm equipment. The staff and costumed actors walk around and have fun interacting with the guests. They allow you to enter in and out of the main gates throughout the day. You can bring in your own food however they have a grill and pizza shop. As a vegetarian, I thought my veggie burger was good and appreciated them being on the menu! We did not do the extra activities such as the stagecoach, gold paning, mini golf, pony rides but really enjoyed the historical bits in the park. That was something I was not expecting of Wild West City.

Very low-key, fun time! We took our two kids on a weekday and it was a very enjoyable experience! Temperature checks at the door, masks required in the museums and a lot to see once you're inside the park.
Live shows every 15 minutes on the main street, small barn animal display, panning for gold and little museums.
We did all the extras: pony ride, train ride and stage coach. Actors were friendly and helpful, the park was clean and well-cared for.
Our kids dressed up and that added to the excitement of the day, definitely would go back.
*Make sure you bring quarters for the rides. You can also bring food in as there are plenty of picnic tables.

I took my kids (11F, 6M) my sister and her son (6) to Wild West City to re-visit a childhood memory. I haven't been there in OVER 20 years. It was exactly as I remember and even better, because I got to see my kids have the same experience I had. My 6 y/o son was literally jumping for joy and laughing with his whole body throughout the show's and interactions. The cast members are GREAT. During one of the live shows the character is falling off his horse and my son was laughing at him. He turned to my son and said (in a hilarious way) "don't laugh at me! Don't laugh at me!) My son felt like he was part of the show. My daughter is 11 so sometimes she's 18 and sometimes she's 8. She became a little kid again for a few hours. She loved the stage coach robbery the most. Both my kids and my nephew had a ton of fun in the Posse hunting down and shooting it out with the bad guys.

My kids had Disney-level fun at Wild West City. I am simply floating on air that I got to give them the same experience I can remember. We stayed 10:30 to 2:30 but next time, and there will be a next time! We will stay all day.

Out of curiosity I read some of the bad reviews and I think they are not understanding some features of the park. Take a schedule and be at the center of town to witness the events. There are some that focus on child participation. Inbetween shows your let your kids run around and shoot it out with each other. My son had a 3-way Mexican Standoff in the center of town with some stranger kids. I can only imagine that in his mind, he was at the center of the show right then.

My 5 year old grandson had a great time. It is a very interactive experience and my grandson loved interacting with the cowboys and outlaws. We were held up on the stagecoach and saw reenactments of saloon fights and cowboy games.
The train ride was fun; we transported a fugitive and were double crossed! We were held up at "gunpoint" again and then rescued.
The cowboys were very sweet. They spent time with my grandson talking about their horses and how life was in the old wild west.
The mountain man was also very sweet and patient. He had several different kinds of animal pelts and traps which he explained. He also showed the skillets he used to cook on and the bed he slept in.
The cowboy races were fun to watch.
My only issue was that the "conductor" is not vaccinated. I agree that everyone has a right to his or her personal beliefs, but when it comes down to interacting with unvaccinated children, that's when I have an issue. Do what you want with your own health, but do not jeopardize others because of your beliefs.

Terribly overpriced and all the activities weren't included. So you needed to pay an additional $5 a person for each one. Totally ridiculous!!
Also the place is poorly maintained and not child friendly. Nothing is hands on.
The barnyard is horrible animals are kept in bad conditions. The chickens are on pavement with nowhere to dig, and their nesting boxes are out in the sun. The cow was in a tiny enclosure it could barely turn around. Pigs and goats also looked like in a sorry state.
This place should be shut down in my opinion or renovated and new management cuz this was just awful. At the teepees there's this huge fire pit filled with algae water also quite hazardous. Would not recommend and I doubt this place will last. Tons of potential as it's a cute setup but so terribly executed.

It's nice to know a pleasant place like this still exists. Good, sizable crowd on this Labor Day. Staff very welcoming and informative. They have a respectful opening flag ceremony with the horses. Live performances every few minutes! Great to see visiting kids so enthusiastic to be there, especially when they were able to participate in the performances. Let it be known these shows include gun play where actors "die" in the road. So think on the sensitivity of your own young-ins witnessing such depictions. Popular are the stagecoach ride and the mini train ride. History buffs (like me) will enjoy vintage old west exhibits (jail cell, bank, post office, blacksmith, etc). There's a barnyard zoo and a mini golf course. Good gift shop. The food service is similar to a boardwalk menu -- pizza, burgers and fries. Otherwise I recommend bringing your own food for there are plenty of picnic tables. There are also plenty of benches so folks can rest while watching old west stuff go by.

We took our 9 and 10 year old nieces...hadn't been there since we took their older cousins 10 years ago. Wild West City is still a fun and wholesome family activity. The shows are entertaining and some invite participation. Every single staff member was friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The kids and we really enjoyed it!

If going in summertime, be sure to wear a hat and sunscreen and to drink a lot of water. A large portion of the place is open to the sun.
