I walked on the Spring Lake Boardwalk several times in August 2020. It is about 2.2 miles long and a very nice place for walking and exercise. The north end is near two arches which mark the border between Spring Lake and Belmar. The south end is near Sea Girt. Along the way there are two pavilions and two gazebos. The second gazebo heading south is Washington Street and you can exit here to walk to Third Avenue which has shops and restaurants. The Spring Lake Boardwalk is a very pleasant place to walk and it is near the beach and ocean.

We love walking on the Spring Lake boardwalk - it's always clean and well maintained. On our recent visit, all of the benches have been removed and stored in a pavillion. It seems to be an extreme COVID measure because scientifically, the virus can't live outdoors very long. Consequently, there was no place to sit in the shaded pavilions.

The boardwalk is about 2 miles long in one of the most beautiful shore towns in New Jersey. There are several bathrooms and a snack place. Plenty of free parking.

Peaceful walking, water view unobstructed, and bathrooms too! Wear a mask and stay a safe distance to keep the boardwalk safe for everyone!

The beach itself is great but the process that the board of selectmen has implemented to access the beach is miserable. If the word "bureaucracy" didn’t exist, the town of Spring Lake would have invented it. To access the beach, you need to buy a tag online (with no apps ready for that, and they don’t accept Paypal…that would make it too simple), sign a series of waivers that would make any lawyer envious, and guess what? You go get your tag one mile away from the beach at the train station; wow great job Spring Lake! I am sure that you can find ways to make our life slightly more miserable...
