About
When Gene Muller founded Flying Fish Brewing Co. in 1995, he did so first on the pre-spam/Amazon/Google World Wide Web – making it the world’s first virtual microbrewery. The subsequent attention generated investor and bank interest turning a great idea into great beer at a real brewery in Cherry Hill in 1996. Fast forward a couple of decades and Flying Fish is now located in Somerdale, New Jersey. In a state where the 50 pre-prohibition breweries were reduced to a couple, we were the first microbrewery in South Jersey and are now the largest of the 70+ craft breweries in the state. Our state-of-the-art brewery is the most sustainable in the region and allows us to brew beer in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Our tasting room is open Wednesday-Sunday and we serve our core beers and special one off or barrel aged beers as well.

It had been quite a number of years since my last visit to Flying Fish Brewery which was at their former location. Their new location is much more spacious and their beer selections are much more expansive than before. Opted for a sampler of their beers and was very pleased with the quality and taste of their offerings. Visited the gift shop behind the tasting bar and purchased several large bottles of their Exit 3 and their NJ 351. The NJ 351 is aged in bourbon barrels and the flavor the barrels impart to the beer is tremendous.

Lots of fun. Take a video tour and then sample a selection of their great beers! Wide variety to chose from. Choose flights of four or eight. Freindly people and lots of fun things to find in the gift shop.

Visited the new place in Somerdale, had no idea what to expect. We took a "tour" and then did a tasting. The tour wasn't really a tour, we were taken in the back and stood there as we were given information about the process of beer making. It was very informative and the employee was very friendly but I do feel it could have been conducted a little better than it was. The place really is helping to do a lot for the environment with solar panels, recycling etc. The tasting room was huge and there are a few picnic tables thrown in to sit at. It's very cold and not very accommodating. The tasting was $6 for 4 beers. Or you can get a small glass of beer for $4.5. Nothing is included in the free tour.

Erin and Kevin were great bartenders! It was our 1st time going and it was a trivia night! We had an amazing time! We will definitely be back again! I definitely recommend their sours and the Jersey Juice!

This brewery is great spot for a casual afternoon or evening. You have to bring your own food. Good selection of beer. They have board games scattered on the tables. A good time was had by all.

We hosted an event here and I was very pleased with how it went! Not only was the room big enough and nicely decorated for the holidays, but the staff was friendly and I would recommend this place to anyone!

The beer is great! The bar staff are so patient explaining all the beers and the history around their names. Start with a flight of your choice.
While Flying Fish does not sell food, there are usually a couple of decent food trucks outside. Give it a try!

We have recently extended our Saturday hours to be 12-9 pm. Hopefully, this is helpful for the longer hours you were looking for.

The tour is free (Yay!) However it is a state/county requirement that you either undertake the tour, or watch a video tour (they have a TV offering an on screen tour), before you can purchase samples, or beer from them at this location.
