I’ve been to this winery a few times and always enjoyed the wine and ambience so I suggested this place as a stop on a bachelorette wine tour. First off, we were a group of late 40s to mid 50s women doing a wine tour at 2pm on a beautiful July day (everyone was at the beach). We were met by a mean hostess who told us they “would try to accommodate our large party”. I explained that we attempted to make reservations but were told to “just show up” because it was slow. She also scolded us on where we parked in the empty parking lot. The hostess then sat us at the very end of the property by the port- o-potties at two picnic tables that weren’t even close to each other.
The place was empty! We all bought several flights, bottles and food and spent close to an hour there. The tables never filled up. It’s self service anyway so lack of wait staff can’t be the excuse either for making such a fuss about our large group. The whole attitude towards our party was so off putting. We decided to leave and check out Nauti Spirits instead…they were amazing & welcoming.
I’m really sorry this happened as I am a local and often recommend the Cape May County wineries as things to do. I’ll be scratching this off the list. It’s not Napa so the taste of the wines isn’t enough to keep folks coming!

Sad Social Statement
On Friday I was supposed to meet my wife, daughter and my 3 month old grandson at Hawk Haven. They called me at 2:20 and said there was a change in plans and to meet them at Cape May Winery. I later found out that they would not let them in because of the baby. The place was basically empty a few people and actually a couple dogs but they wouldn’t let in a family with a baby. My wife explained that they were happy to sit outside where there was loads of room and no one to bother but they refused. Very sad when dogs are allowed but not babies! The good news is we had a wonderful time at Cape May winery. They had live music early on Friday afternoon and a great crowd. The food and wine were excellent and we will be going back there. I had been one of the early members of Hawk Haven but now I will never return.

My family was looking to spend an sunny afternoon relaxing with some wine. We went to Cape May Winery, they were very nice there but it was super crowded and had a wait to be seated. Since we had our infant granddaughter with us we chose to try somewhere else due to the wait.
So we went down the road to this place, it was much less crowded with plenty of empty tables outside.
After getting together we headed to the check in. As we approached the "greeter" rushed out, I thought perhaps someone was not wearing a mask, but it was something much more egregious. Yup it was the baby, 15 months old and half asleep in the stroller.
When we were told that their policy is no one under the age of 21 was permitted, I quickly looked around to make sure we did not mistakenly stop at a Strip club, or Adult bookstore by accident.
Nope, unfortunately we stopped at Hawk Haven, and we will never make that mistake again, baby or not.

I'm sorry that you were disappointed in your recent experience. We pride ourselves on the quality of our wines as well as the quality of our customer service. Unfortunately we are dealing with some pretty unusual circumstances lately due to this pandemic. We have reopened with the strictest interpretation of the guidelines set forth by the state. We decided to take the approach of how can we keep people safe instead of what can we get away with. Since we reopened, it has been a mixed bag of uncertainty, fear and constant change. After each week of service we have a meeting to discuss what restrictions we can relax for the coming week. We are working hard to provide the best experience for our customers, but now we are also responsible for the safety of our staff and our customers. It is a lot of pressure on our staff and I ask that you have a little patience, not just with Hawk Haven but with the hospitality industry in general. I heard your comments and will address them in Monday's staff meeting. I recommend calling or checking the website of the places you plan to visit so you can be aware of their policies before making the trip. -Kenna Wuerker, Owner

Just ok. We took the tour and partook in reserved tented seating afterwards. Our tour was given by a knowledgeable host but one consumed by her knowledge above and beyond accounting for the accommodation of her guests. A good tour guide does both. Additionally the tastings on the tour, on the menu, and in the tasting room are all the same and they only include the more esoteric varietals. So if you’re hoping for a taste of their Cabernet or Merlot or Sauvignon Blanc, you’ll be disappointed. Food truck service to table takes over an hour yet they encourage a max limit of 1 hour 45 minutes to enjoy the tented seated reservation. I wanted to get the menu tasting option for the seated reservation but soon realized it was the exact same wine
offerings I tasted on the tour and did not care for. A lot of kinks to work out before becoming fully customer centered enjoyable experience worth the trip and money spent.

We made a reservation for 4 at noon on Saturday. The winery was not crowded at all for a saturday. We bought cheese, a few flights and bottle of wine and snacks at the lunch truck. After 1 hour 45 minutes we were rudely told that we had to leave because the table was reserved for 2'Oclock. We looked around to see about a dozen tables unoccupied and asked if we could stay and move to one of those tables. We were told no. We wanted to stay for the music at 2:00 and asked if we could move to the chairs on the sand, they did say this was ok. We stayed another hour to listen to the music and then left. I have to say that the way we were approached and told to leave was very rude. There was another group of six ladies who arrived about the same time as us and they were not asked to leave after 1 hour 45 minutes! I understand if this is the policy for the winery, however, there were plenty of tables open, so I don't get it when your going to tell a group to leave that spent about $300! We were going to also take wine home, but decided against supporting the winery after this incident! We will not go back!!!!

A great stop to end our Villas NJ beach vacation! Party of 6 plus a dog enjoy several flights and glasses on the well manicured grounds. Warm sunny day, live music playing, friendly staff! Nice selection and pours.. the whites were very good and not peachy or too grapefruit lingering.. the la allignra was very good!! Easy access and would look to go back when in area!!

We've been coming to the beach our whole lives and were looking for something different to do. My sister found info on this vineyard and we signed up for a tour and tasting. Connor was so knowledgeable and gave a great tour. The wine was tasty and cheese plate was perfect ending. My only regret is that I didnt buy more wine from the store.

I went to the winery this weekend. Saturday the 21st. We had Celine as our taste room presenter and from the time we showed up, loved the grounds and the ambience. Celine was very friendly and welcoming. She actually got my wife and myself into the whites. The Alberino was very refreshing! We make our own wine in New Jersey. Red wines with family and now I can appreciate the white wines. Celine was very knowledgeable and really seems to love her job! She was swamped with a few groups and smiled throughout keeping everyone interested and happy. It's refreshing to go to a winery and see someone take care of you and enjoy it herself! You rock Celine! We will visit again!! Thanks for a great experience.

Stopped in there on a Friday afternoon. We were greated by two very nice women.
The wine was better than expected. Will stop there when I am in the neighborhood again.
