The wife and I are big fans of the show 'Comic Book Men' and we were able to meet Meng Chen at a ComicCon in Plattsburgh NY where he invited us down to see the shop. Between the Covid delay and the shop moving to a new location on 65 Broad Street, we didn't get there until now. We were very excited to see the place.
The inside is, of course, very different from the TV show (it's a new place) but it has lots of comics (of course), some toys and Funkos, and really cool stuff on the wall, including quite a bit from various movies that Kevin Smith has been in, People may be a bit surprised that it really isn't a big place and the focus really is on comics.
One of the stars from the show (Mike Zapcic) was working the counter and he took the time to chat with us as well. The service was good here and there was a decent stream of people coming in for their comic fix. Overall, this is a great little comic shop in the middle of a nice strip of shops and restaurants... well worth checking out.

Awesome place. I was there on August 2nd, 2022 and I met both Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes. They were cool, especially Kevin. It it a nice comic book store and they also sell merchandise based of Kevin Smith's movies. If you are in the area you should go.

Just remember, it is a business after all! It has merchandise of all kind including comics and Kevin Smith. Walt and Mike were kind enough to take a moment to take a picture with me as well even though they were going about their business at the store. Absolutely awesome experience thanks to those guys.

Took time from our trip to new york to visit this amazing store. The guys were great even if i am a huge fan of theirs. Walt dont ever change.

My son loves the show and you can meet the cast at the store. He loves picking up t-shirts and wearing them in our home town at Virginia Beach, Va to impress his friends. If you are close you gotta stop in.

We travelled to Red Bank specifically to visit the secret stash and were surprised at how small it was. I imagined it to be bigger for some reason. There are some really cool film props (a must see for Kevin Smith movie fans) and interesting comics up for grabs. The guy behind the counter seemed very knowledgeable, if a little kooky (talking to himself and the movie he was watching in the store).

My husband is a HUGE Kevin Smith fan and visiting the Secret Stash has been on his bucket list. We were at a wedding a couple of hours away from Red Bank and made the trip, and it was 100% worth the extra driving time added to our trip!
The store was packed full of goodies and memorabilia from the various Jay and Silent Bob movies, including Buddy Christ, the Clerks uniforms, etc. There was a good selection of collectables, including Funko Pops. The comic selection was good, too, and my husband was thrilled to score a variant cover of Deadpool. We were interested to see who would be there since he had read reviews that the Comic Book Men guys are almost never there, but Mike and Walter were both working and were very friendly and gracious enough to sign the shirt that we bought. All of the staff were in fact very friendly and helpful. We had our toddler with us and I was keeping him close since I'm not about to let a kid loose around valuable collectables, but instead of being nervous about a little one around their inventory, the guys engaged with him and seemed happy to see that we are raising the next nerd generation. All in all, we ended up driving an extra two hours to get there plus another three hours to escape New Jersey insane traffic, and the grin that was stuck on my husband's face the whole rest of the day made it clear that it was all worth it!

First off I am a Kevin Smith fan and love the TV show. Unfortunately the store in Red Bank doesn't hold a candle to what is perceived on the show. Very thin selection comics and memorabilia. Kevin is an institution and thought he would have more represented. The staff was lame and Brian was on the phone for 30 mins arguing over a refund. I am glad I stopped in but there are many better comic book stores out there. This place is a true sell out and seems is only about the show.

My husband and I are big fans of the "TESD" podcast, and all other things Kevin smith related. It was only appropriate to make the trip from Boston for the weekend. Red Bank is a charming town with lots of things to do. We got to meet Walt, git 'em, and Sunday Jeff. Walt illustrated & signed in our comics, took pictures, and even gave us TESD patches. Git' em was so friendly and showed us the store zippo collection. The store had lots of cool stuff to look at, and of course we dropped serious $$ on our merch. Getting to meet our favorite, weekly podcast hosts, was truly amazing. Later we went to Surf Taco next door (of course) and gushed about our experience..

My sons have been watching the show these guys do and couldn't pass up an opportunity to grab an hour long train ride to give them a visit.
The shop is cool and was pretty well stocked.
The tunes on the radio were great.
I was impressed that Walt and Mike were there and doing the day-to-day job.
Surprisingly Mike was the talkative guy, of what talk there was, and Walt said not a word.
I was surprised the guys were not like the show I guess you can't be on all the time.
Asked Mike about the lighting for the filming, he seemed a bit put out by the question, I guess it wasn't his day.
Great store all the same and worth the visit.
Lots to see and buy, and if you call and get John on the phone it is Mike.
When all is said and done this is a must visit and buy some comics or a sticker at least.

Do you need to make appointments to try to sell items there? We have collectibles to sell. We are not looking to be on the show as we u understand that's likely not a walk on process!

Just call the shop. I was just there two days ago and Walt was on the phone discussing buying something off of a collector. I wasn't paying that close of attention but seemed pretty straight forward. He'll ask you to email pictures so I'd maybe just go ahead and email them prior to calling as well.

I will be in New York City for a few days in December this year. This will be my first ever visit to NYC. I am a huge Kevin Smith fan but not really into comics. I would appreciate any advice on whether The Secret Stash is worth the travel/time? Thanks heaps in advance.

It is definitely worth it. It is very organized and well detailed. It is a bit overpriced on some things but the location warrants that. You can spend at least an hour in the place and afterwards Red Bank offers lots of other things to do ie, a walk down to the Marina overlooking the river, lots of eateries and interesting stores. Near Bridge Ave are antique galleries. Hope this helps.
