Garden state Plaza is one of the largest malls in the country. In addition to such flagship stores as Macys and Lord & Taylor, there are many other great places to shop, like Northface, Timberland, and Godiva. there is also a 16 screen movie theater with stadium seating and IMAX shows.

A bustling shopping mall with tons to do and lots of great stores, both high-end like Neiman Marcus and more affordable like Macy's. Always packed and easy to spend a whole afternoon there. Great for solo shoppers and groups.

Hi. Heading to NYC in July and would like to spend a day at this mall?
Whats the best way to get there from mid town Manhatten or is it expensive to take a taxi? I will be travelling with my two young daughters and we don't fancy spending ages on a bus that may stop everywhere.
Many thanks!!!!

I am not big on shopping, but Garden State is so convenient and you can find everything here. It is a big maze but for the shopper enthusiast it must be heaven. Be ready to fight the traffic in the parking lots and the race to find a parking space. Other that that you can catch a movie or eat at a nice restaurant

Huge Mall, with entire "A Class" brands name. You can find a Louis Vuitton", Gucci", Etc. Anchors stores like: Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, J.C Penny, Macy's, and more. It’s a mixture of fashion, Jewelry, sports shop, and much more. In fact, it's the biggest shopping mall in all New Jersey State. I loved the "Michal Negrin" shop, of fashion Jewelry.

I love this mall but I am sitting now in the food court and just saw a cockroach walk across the floor. Lunch over. Back to shopping.

This mall is huge! They have every store that you could think of from high end to retail. They also have have a nice selection of places to eat. The parking lot is huge but a bit chaotic.

Went for dinner and was extremely disappointed. Very pricey for what you get. Spare ribs were dry. Brisket was ok. No knife to cut the meat. Potato Salad had so much stuff in it ,you could hardly taste potato. Broccoli Salad had no taste. Cole Slaw was just ok. Fries were very browned and thin. They were salted. No condiments like salt or pepper at the tables. Unsweetened ice tea was just that. No sugar or sugar substitutes. No atmosphere to the place. Shake Shack across the way is your better choice. The Mighty Quinn has nothing to brag about.

Love, love, love shopping here. My recommendation is to go on the weekend outside of school holidays to really enjoy the shopping experience without the crowds. For best deals visit at the end of the season, I managed to pick up Levis's Jeans for as little as $13 for a pair in the clearance rack. This place is highly recommended for those who love shopping at great prices.

This is a nice, large mall with tons of stores - over 300 - 15 miles outside of the city. Newman Marcus, Nordstrom and Lord and Taylor are the major anchors. I am not a fan of malls, but you will be able to find what you need here.

Is it possible to get there on a bus? We are seniors and could not cross busy streets unless they are pedestrian friendly.

Yes, get any NJ Transit bus that goes to Paterson, or take a Paterson-bound jitney from the George Washington Bridge Terminal on 175th street.

I'm thinking of going there for my birthday. Probably staying at the Holiday inn. How far is the mall from the hotel. Walking distance? Or is there a shuttle or taxi I'll have to take. Thanks in advance.
Written January 25, 2016
The mall is located between two major highways and is not walkable, although it is near the Holiday Inn on Route 17. Check with the front desk about a shuttle or other alternative, possibly a local cab service.

Hi myself and my 23 year old daughter are going to New York in October and we were wondering if it was worth our while taking a trip out to Westfield as she is very interested in buying bags and clothes and we were wondering if it was cheaper to shop there rather in New York. Many Thanks.
Written May 15, 2015
The big saving by shopping in New Jersey over New York is that there is no sales tax on clothing in New Jersey, so you save about 8% on everything wearable, including shoes.
