Went there at 9.30am and it was less of a crowd, day was foggy but still great to spend time to lie on the beach and read a book. There are people surfing too.. not to miss this place.

Quiet, no loud obnoxious music, plenty of space once you pass 9th Street beaches. Plenty of parking nearby if coming for just the day!

This 8 mile stretch of sand and sun was voted the best beach in New Jersey. With fine white (light gray) sand, water reaching the 70's in late summer and life guards every other block this beach beats many beaches outside New Jersey. Ocean City...More

They have dredged the beach. This means that they take sand from the bottom of the ocean offshore and dump it where you put your beach chair. It's supposed to help with erosion, until a storm washes it away. For a surfer it turns the...More

Ocean City beaches are by far the nicest and cleanest beaches in the area. You need a beach tag to go on but its worth the price. They are kept up and have been replenished in most areas. I meet the nicest people on these...More

OC really does have some beautiful beaches. Clean and family friendly!! From the great surfing on the north end to the south end at Corsens Inlet where you can have the beach all to yourself some days!

Had a great time walking on this beach while visiting friends. It was still cold, so fairly deserted, and I had a great time walking along the surf looking for sea treasures.

sorry I m late to answer.
Ocean City beach staff, I live an hour one way from Ocean city but drive this 3 times a week to enjoy the beach with family and friends. I come even on rainy days just for the shopping and restaurants. But this year has been bitter experience due to the over crowing of personal tents, easy ups and other over sized family forts. I want people to enjoy the beach as well but feel some sort of enforcement needs to be put in place to regulate this issue. Either band them all together, charge people per shelter a 20.00 seasonal fee or 11.00 daily fee for these oversized shelters when they pitch tents on the beach for the day, or make them place the apparatuses toward the back of the beach where the public isn't at harm when the winds pick up and make these a dangerous projectile. I have been hit twice now by flying umbrellas and a shelter that wasn't properly tied down when the wind instantly kicked up. These are dangerous and need to be addressed. If people had to pay this fee it could go back into ocean city and perhaps the people would be a little more responsible when setting them up. Smoking and drinking is going on out in the open now and these shelters are not the issue when it comes to this problem. The issue seems to be going on between the life guards, I'm on the beach usually by 8 am and don't leave till around 5pm and it is clear that the beach is not being patrolled when the open containers of alcohol and smoking are clear and present. I am very disappointed this year but know that you will look into this and make some sort of decision to better serve and protect your patrons.
