This was our first visit to Ocean City, NJ. We loved this beach! We stayed near the lifeguard stands as we had our 6 year old in the water a lot. Lifeguards were very attentive. Lots of families on the beach. Even in the water, people would chat to each other about the shells or the waves. My son enjoyed... More

We don't have any children but if we did we would have no problem letting them ride they by]bicycles around town or even walking the boardwalk at night as we witnesses so many parents do.

Beach is clean and short walk from Boardwalk, also a short walk to the water, unlike Wildwood, NJ. However, while packing your beach attire, also pack your patience, this beach gets very crowded. If you don't mind strangers sitting within inches of your chair, then this beach is for you.

There is a fee to get onto Ocean City beaches, and they do regularly come by and check to see if you have your beach tags. They have flags up on the beach to show where you are allowed to go into the ocean. Be careful, you will get yelled at if you are outside that area and in the... More

I mean, what can I say? If the beach looks crowded, wait until you get in the water- there's still plenty of room to swim, throw a ball, ride the waves, and just relax. There's more room in the water and sand than you would expect from just looking at it from afar. Lifeguards will close their section when they... More

Lots of space. We were able to spread out and not be crowded. There were a lot of cigarette butts in the sand unfortunately. Lifeguards were relaxed not on you about everything like some places we visited. They made sure the unsupervised kids were swimming/boogie boarding kids were in between flags (designated swimming area).

Clean as a whistle and who doesn't like a clean beach. A little crowded in spots and limited swimming areas ( for safety reasons ) but excellent beach.

Nice beach for your family, but pricey. Each person needs a beach pass and parking is hard to find. Lots to see and do, but remember to bring your money.

Nice 4 days at the OC Beach at 4th street. A bit narrow from winter storms at high tide but did not feel crowded in. Everyone was well behaved on the beach.
