What a little gem of museum! I learned so much about the history of Ocean City, NJ. The museum displays covered the area from when the Indians lived and fished here to early tourism.

There were interesting displays on local businesses and theaters, many restaurants and especially the beach patrol and its part in the town. The displays on shipwrecks was very interesting and there was a nice display about Princess Grace of Philly. It seems that Grace Kelly's family used to vacation here when she was a kid and the family continued to vacation here even when she was a princess. That was neat.

The displays are so well organized and posted and the museum is free which is nice. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and give you good insights and the best part is that it is located just a few blocks from the boardwalk.

We visited this fascinating museum while vacationing in Ocean City.

Even though it is tucked away in a large community building that includes a library and swimming pool, a visit is worthwhile. There are many displays worth exploring including items and information from the wreck of the Sindia, background on the origins of Ocean City and its churches, and details about Grace Kelly.

The museum is free as is parking....a great deal in a city where parking is at a premium. Certainly a great place to explore.

The museum is located in the same building as the library, but does have a separate entrance. The staff was absolutely fantastic. They are a wealth of information about the history of Ocean City, which began as Peck's Beach. They also discussed Ocean City's connection with Ocean Grove, NJ. Had I not spoken with the staff, I would have never realized that, with all of my visits to the OC boardwalk, I never noticed there are no games of chance available. I learned so much by just speaking with museum staff members. There are artifacts recovered from the ship Sindia that ran aground off OC in 1901. Also, an interesting exhibit about Princess Grace's connection to OC. Enjoyable visit that is worth a return.

A small museum with souvenirs of OC founders, the town over one and a half centuries, and a shipwreck. It's tucked into the Community Center, with good parking. There's some fun stuff, small gift shop, and the volunteer told us interesting stories.

This little local history museum is interesting and well organized. It is located in the Community Cultural Center, same complex as the free library. It is an important destination for everybody who wants to understand local history better.

It was good to take a break and learn about the history of Ocean City. Why it is a dry city? The house a Princess once lived in. Where is that mysterious ship in the ocean?

We spent about an hour there and we're very grateful that there were scavenger hunt type activities for the children. The docent was quite knowledgeable and provided a lot of color.

Our family has regularly visited OC for many years. We have been to the Ocean City Historical Museum a number of times. It shows an authentic history of Ocean City and the boardwalk and the changes over the years are fascinating to see. You can make it work for younger children by engaging them in conversations about how things look different.
