This little local history museum is interesting and well organized. It is located in the Community Cultural Center, same complex as the free library. It is an important destination for everybody who wants to understand local history better.

We visited this fascinating museum while vacationing in Ocean City.

Even though it is tucked away in a large community building that includes a library and swimming pool, a visit is worthwhile. There are many displays worth exploring including items and information from the wreck of the Sindia, background on the origins of Ocean City and its churches, and details about Grace Kelly.

The museum is free as is parking....a great deal in a city where parking is at a premium. Certainly a great place to explore.

A small museum with souvenirs of OC founders, the town over one and a half centuries, and a shipwreck. It's tucked into the Community Center, with good parking. There's some fun stuff, small gift shop, and the volunteer told us interesting stories.

If you ever wondered why Ocean City is a dry town, this place explains how it came about. Our docent, Trivi-Al, led the way around this small, but well organized museum. He entertained us with fun facts and questions/answers about the town, including how the board walk evolved (fires and storms re-shaped the line of the beach several times), the Sindia ship wreck, the movie theaters, and of course Grace Kelly. I think if you came in and wandered around by yourself, you could probably walk through it in about 30 minutes. But the value-add of the docent really enhances the visit. For my 20-something year old son, it was the highlight of our week long stay in Ocean City. By the way, the museum is located at one end of the Ocean City community center. So it's a little weird to walk past locker rooms, gym, indoor pool, etc to get to the museum.

It was good to take a break and learn about the history of Ocean City. Why it is a dry city? The house a Princess once lived in. Where is that mysterious ship in the ocean?

We spent about an hour there and we're very grateful that there were scavenger hunt type activities for the children. The docent was quite knowledgeable and provided a lot of color.

Our family has regularly visited OC for many years. We have been to the Ocean City Historical Museum a number of times. It shows an authentic history of Ocean City and the boardwalk and the changes over the years are fascinating to see. You can make it work for younger children by engaging them in conversations about how things look different.
