Located in Newark's downtown cultural district, The New Jersey Historical Society is a statewide, nonprofit museum, library, and archives. We collect, preserve and interprete New Jersey's rich and intricate history to the broadest possible audience. The Historical Society houses one of the largest collections of New Jersey-related materials in the world. Museum Hours: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm -- Tuesday - Saturday Library Hours: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm --Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday

Its very small and doesnt really have much.I think the Newark Museum is a better option if you are looking for things to see.
