Great Seating "not a bad seat in the house"

Great shows, a little of everything, music, comedy etc. No bad seating. Intermission cocktails expensive. Everyone is very helpful. They do a great all around job.

More about the place than the show. Parking is difficult. The area has improved over time, so getting out late is not a problem. The place is well staffed, with security, ticket takers, ushers, and sales personnel. Each person I came in contact with was cheerful and professional. The seating is comfortable, with enough room for my knees. Food and... More

The State Theater hosts a wide range of entertainment from plays, symphonies, operas, and rock concerts to variety and children's shows and headline comedians. Parking is a two block walk away but is reasonably priced and the area feels very safe. There are two other theaters on the street which are going to be knocked down to build a high... More

Great evening seeing Audra McDonald at the annual State Theater Gala. Lovely restored venue. Comfortable seats and did not look like a bad seat in the house. Good acoustics and friendly ushers.

We opted for the Deluxe Red Carpet treatment to see the 20th Anniversary of Rent, with the pre-show cocktail lounge and box seats, and really enjoyed the experience. The special treatment was wonderful, as we got to meet the event planner and chairman of the board of trustees, among others. Having a relaxing drink with popcorn and nuts in the... More

My friend and I saw RENT at the theater this weekend and were seated in the rear balcony, Row X, seats 107 and 109. We could not see the actors' faces!! This naturally took away from the show, and while I understand balcony seats offer less than ideal views, typically balconies rise up more steeply so you remain fairly close... More

The State, I'm sure, had its beginning in the days of vaudeville and has been restored to its pristine beauty. Comfortable and plentiful seating and realistic pricing with loads of top shows throughout the year. In the last year, we've seen Celtic Woman and the Christmas Manheim Steamroller - back to back dates. Best theater for many miles around.

I purchased 3 tickets of same price to a children's show there recently for my husaband, myself and two year old. I could only get two tickets together. The 3rd one was on the opposite side but my two year old sits on my lap whenever to go to shows. The manager actually interrupted us duirng the show to tell... More
