Nice campus and great buildings - the art gallery in particular is worth a visit while you are there

Pretty Campus
Jul 2019
OK, there are four campuses. Cook-Douglas is probably my favorite from a beauty standpoint but they are all nice. Worth spending a little time walking around.

Beautiful University!
Aug 2018 • Couples
My family and I live in the vicinity of the university NB Downtown and we enjoy the beautiful and impressive sights of both historical and modern buildings. An excellent school in lovely atmosphere of open green spaces and huge trees. Also a convenient place where shops, restaurants, Starbucks cafe are all locating within short walking distance. Love this beautiful university!

Excellent State Univ

Wear comfortable walking shoes as this is a huge campus. There are multiple buildings - most of which are connected internally. Some of them are not and require walking outside. So if you are going in the winter time, dont forget your jacket, there is a lot of open space. Parking is available in plenty. Use the Rutgers web page to locate where you are going and park nearby. Excellent college and great atmosphere.

A nice University, and there are good and bad aspects
Oct 2018
This a good university. As a tourist site, your success will be determined by why you are visiting:
1. This is a first rate academic institution. It became the State university after many years of being a private college
2. There are 5 campuses. New Brunswick (Rutgers College) Douglas/Cook, Busch and Livingston. Rutgers College in New Brunswick is the original college. Was all men until 1972. It has most of the old buildings and some of them are good for a tourist. Old Queens is the original building. The Zimmerli Art Gallery is a prime stop. You stop to see the statue of Willie the Silent. The Douglas Campus is the old Women's College at the other end of town. It has many quaint buildings and is the Home of the Kilmer Oak, the subject of the Joyce Kilmer poem Trees/ The Cook campus is the old Ag. School that has a working College Farm. The Livingston campus is on the former grounds of Camp Kilmer, a large Army camp built during WWII. Some of the original Army buildings still exist. This campus and Busch are across the River in Piscataway. The Busch Campus is the home of the Medical School and High Point Solutions Stadium.
3. Parking all over the campuses is difficult especially I New Brunswick
4. High Point Solutions stadium is home of the worst Big Ten Football team. Nice stadium, but if you go to the games be prepared for high ticket prices, lot's of obnoxious drinkers and high priced concessions

Would appreciate a visitor center
Oct 2018 • Couples
We’re used to a centralized campus, so we were surprised by the dispersed, urban feel of the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick. We were disappointed that there was no clearly marked visitor center or directions to one. We did find our way to the “Queens Campus Gates” and a few historic buildings. Too bad we weren’t guided to information to help us appreciate the campus. We might have stayed longer, spent some money there.

return visit
Sep 2018 • Family
My daughter has returned for her 3rd year doing a course of vetenary science, she has never been away on her own but since being at Rutgers she has "come out of her shell" her results are fantastic which has a bearing on the universities way of teaching, the "uni" covers a vast area and has virtually everything a student would need.
any parents or student who would like to go to Rutgers should make every opportunity to visit

Rutgers has many modern amenities yet has an overall, old world feel to it.
Plenty of things to do, services and restaurants.
