We needed to get out of the house after being quarantined for weeks during the pandemic. The park is so beautiful this time of year. Not too many people because of the pandemic but it was nice to visit for a little while. The sun was out with low humidity. A few people were waling around to get some exercise. The openness allows people to enjoy the surroundings. The baseball fields are closed but they may reopen toward the end of the month. There are so many different paths to follow. In the woods, it is so tranquil. Maybe that's why we enjoy it so much.

This is a big and beautiful park. Lots of things to do here, hiking trails, sports fields,
big lake, dog park, picnic areas, even a small kids zoo. A great place to visit.

So don't travel to come to Thompson park. BUT- If you're local, in the area- yes! Hiking trails. Kiddy area, mini mini animal area , lake. Gorgeous and zen on a clear day.
For a small fairly non descript town like jamesburg this is a very happy asset. The scourge of polluting geese and ducks was taken seriously and now that the water has been cleaned - lovely to visit. Huge and beautiful for moderate hiking. Great public areas for family bbqs and parties. Nice to sit and watch the water, meander, dog walk, read. Not far from ice cream, pizza, so a popular stop for children in the spring, summer and fall. Feeding the deer and visiting the playground remain popular. Outdoor performances in the summer.

I went to this park with my daughter and granddaughter on a very nice and family warm day in January. It was fun seeing my granddaughter on the kiddy swing (She's ten months old) and watching her face when we went to see the animals. They have ducks, turkeys, chickens, roosters, deer, pheasants, a pig and goats. This is a wonderful place for families. They even have hiking trails although I didn't get to check them out. Great place for family entertainment in the great outdoors.

There are so many things to do from the youth play area to the dog park and baseball fields. This place is always a family pleaser. No reservations required. Trails allow you to walk by the roads, which have a picturesque view. The spring and fall are most delightful.

We go there for walks now, few miles of trails around pretty wooded areas. We used to go to the animal zoo where you can feed them they have tennis courts and tennis/paddle wall where I go to hit sometimes. Nice lake but no rentals or swimming. There is even old train tracks with nostalgic feel to them, a nice long hill for winter sleigh fun. Overall great park in the area for leisurely time.

Beautiful to walks and hiking. Enjoy a picnic lunch while the kids play in the many playgrounds. Take a walk to see the many different small animals and birds in our little zoo.

This is a wonderful park to walk the various trails and camp with the Boy Scouts. We have held a number of jamborees and weekend scouting events to learn that this place is unique. It is located just behind the new Monroe HS so some of the former land was taken by eminent domain.

There are plenty of places to camp but don't be surprised to find a bear or deer nearby. Any camping must be done by permit from the county. So if you looking for a great weekend outdoors, this the place to go. They also have a wonderful dog park and several softball fields along Perrineville Road. It is also close to several food establishments and the Jamesburg Police Department. The Middlesex County Park Rangers patrol the area for vandals and vagrants.
